You may have wanted Windows 11 on your mac, and have tried Boot Camp Assistant. However, Boot Camp only supports windows 7-10, and it doesn't support Apple Silicon Macs. However, there is a (pretty) easy way to run Windows on a Mac and be able to switch, if you want.
Step 1: Download and install balenaEtcher on your mac. You can download it here.
Step 2: Download the Windows 11 ISO file here.
Step 3: Plug a USB drive into your computer (or use an adapter for 2016-2019 macs)
Step 4: Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Select the USB and click "Erase". Format the USB as FAT-32.
Step 5: Use Etcher to flash the ISO file to the USB. (Learn how to do that here.)
Step 6: Restart your computer. When you hear the noise, hold the option key.
Step 7: Choose the USB in the list of drives.
Step 8: Create a partition for Windows 11 in the installer, or erase your disk if you want to delete macOS entirely.
Step 9: Once Windows loads, you won't have the necessary drivers! Install and run the drivers here. Install the touchpad driver here.
You're all set! To switch between windows and mac, restart and hold option, then switch.
