Hi J Dil,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Surface touchscreen after the Windows 11 update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support
- Force a shutdown and restart your Surface: Force a shutdown and restart your Surface - Microsoft Support
- Uninstall Intel Precise Touch device and the HID-Compliant Touch Screen driver and restart:
1. Open Device Manager.
- Locate and expand Human Interface Devices.
- Expand Human Interface Devices.
- Right-click on HID-Compliant Touch Screen and select Uninstall. If there is more than one driver, uninstall those as well.
- Right-click on Intel(R) Precise Touch Device and select Uninstall.
- From the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes. You may also need to restart the Surface.
- Roll Back the Recent Update:
- If the issue started after a specific update, you might consider rolling back to a previous version.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.
- A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support
I hope this helps, and your touchscreen functionality is restored soon! If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Your Sincerely

Hi everyone, I recently updated my Windows 11, and it has caused several issues with my computer. Here are the problems I'm facing:
1- Touchscreen Stopped Working: After the update, my touchscreen functionality has completely stopped working. Device managers under Human Interface doesn't even display a HIF-Compliant Touch screen driver.
2- Suspend Mode Not Functioning: The suspend mode no longer works. I have to manually turn off and restart my computer, which is very inconvenient.
3- Sound Driver Affected: The sound driver was also affected, but I managed to fix it by reinstalling the drivers.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues after the latest Windows 11 update? If so, were you able to find a solution? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have followed all the steps I found online, but nothing has worked so far...
Frankly, it's disappointing to see such significant issues arising from a Windows update. I wish I had known about all the problems this new update would cause; that way, I never would have installed it.

I would like to thank you for your very quick response.
I followed ALL your recommendations without success unfortunately.
I tried safe mode again and it worked as I already told you.
It seems to me that now it's up to you to test a surface pro 6 and try to see if you have the same problem. Could you explain to me why this works in safe mode and not otherwise?
as I told you, I completely reset my surface: I used a USB recovery key. so my pc was in initial state without any additional software that could have caused a problem.
It seems to me that now the ball is in your court.
I have done my best and I am sure you will do yours by testing and applying any corrections that seem necessary.
I wish you a good day and thank you for your attention
Hi I was playing a visual novel on my HP EliteBook X 360 1030 G4 and the all over sudden the touch screen stoped responding. I have restarted the pc and Even tried to update the compliant touch screen. Nothing I have tried has fix the issue. The keyboard is working properly while the touch pad is working but the touch pad button seems also not to be working but they do on a mouse. I am asking to know if I may get any assistance on this issue. And to be honest I don't know if it's a software or hardware issue
