I'm just getting mortally tired of this; have had a sleep study but for the hot part..
I've been searching and searching for a comforter that won't boil me and won't cost me a arm and a leg. I noticed Ikea has some nice ones that aren't that pricy; they do deliver to my area (A Good Thing, considering I don't drive and there's no Ikea in Douglasville; I don't want to go into Atlanta unless absolutely necessary b/c of covid fears). I don't mind white but I thought I'd ask you guys who live near one; which one would be good for a hot sleeper/someone plagued with night sweats? I don't want to make yet another mistake, and I've made 3 (!) mistakes on blankets.
A hospital style blanket's too cold. My old dorm comforter (rather thick and fluffy) is too hot. I got a cotton quilt, but prolly b/c the filling is 50/50 cotton/poly, it's too hot. :/
I think I need something warmth wise between the quilt and the hospital blankets, and it has to be breathable to keep the sweating away. Any ideas with the ones available at Ikea? I can get brands with the quilt, but the comforter is a walmart special and is so old, you can't read the tag anymore; if you want to see what that is, I'll take a photo. It's lasted me a LONNNG time so not mad, tho this is annoying; even if I end up a hosehead, I'd like to stop the "i'm boiling!" problem.
[Edit] Saw that. I admit I'm a Ikea virgin here (NEVER been there yet; didn't even think about it until someone mentioned ikea elsewhere!) so did some investigating to see if I could get it delivered. The problem is I need to know which blanket/comforter is which before I make the order or I could waste money AGAIN!! which I don't want. Getting things via mail and not going in is a pain in the south end sometimes. But it's a covid problem literally since Atlanta is where most of the cases are right now and I don't want to catch it; it'd prolly kill my sister if she caught it. :/ Maybe even kill us both if we're unlucky, but my sister would be especially vulnerable to dying because of pre-existing conditions. Hence why we've been doing a lot of mail order, but in this case, gah..makes it hard!
Long story short, ingabritta was discontinued and I had no clue. I saw them at the store maybe a year ago and my current one is getting a little ratty so I was like “hm, better stock up since I got a big adult job now and I know IKEA loves to discontinue my favorite items and…. Low and behold it was discontinued and I am grieving to say the least. I have spent an hour trying to find the mustard yellow ingabritta I have wanted since 2020 but now it isn’t available and I can’t find it with any resellers on eBay. If anyone has any leads or ideas please let me know.
I know we joke about items being discontinued but I am really distraught about this one. The ingabritta I currently have is such a big comfort item for me w neurodivergence and I can’t imagine not having it.
🫵🏻😵💫 u wanna help me find an ingabritta so bad…. 🪄 any suggestions please I’m at my wits end
Hi, we're wanting to upgrade our duvet from a cheap synthetic sweaty comforter to something nicer and natural. Looking at IKEA right now since they have pretty affordable options. We're considering wool and down.
Can anyone weigh in on the down smell issues? Seems like a lot of reviewers end up throwing the duvet out due to the smell. Is the stank really that brutal?
Also would love any experience with the wool duvet. I love wool, just not sure how warm it will be.
For context, our bedroom gets down into the mid 50s in the winter. We're also running flannel sheets and a Pendleton wool blanket.
Any input on either of the IKEA duvets is appreciated ✌️
