I feel like if someone chooses to hold their wedding outside in winter you're in the clear to wear whatever is weather-appropriate - regardless of appearance or formality. I don't wear open-toed anything in winter (even indoors) so we may have different comfort levels, but personally I would just wear decent, warm boots and a comfy coat, not worry about your pants or dressing up under the coat, and just focus your energy on indoor reception attire. If you tend to run cold, get a heavier fabric dress with long sleeves and buy a blanket scarf in a fancy print for extra warmth. I find a lot of venues tend to crank the heat up in the winter and then you will be sweating so the key is to bring layers- sleeveless dress with a blazer or bolero and then also bring a coat/shawl just in case.

I have a wedding on December 30. I have no idea what to wear. The invitation did not say what the dress code was, so I’m guessing semi formal? It’s a nice venue and the family weddings are usually semi formal. It’s hard because so many winter dresses are so formal. I’m 28 and a bit curvy, about a size 14. Please help! Where do I look?
