Brooklinen makes some great sets, but quite a lot are returned cuz of shrinkage or the fabric getting scratchy over time (major ick) For cotton-linen blends, I’d recommend California Design Den or Sijo. Parachute has a nice relaxed look but can be high maintenance and tends to wrinkle heavily. Coyuchi is solid if you want something organic, but their king sizes tend to run a bit snug after a few washes. I’ve seen the most consistent feedback on California Design Den (linking it cuz its a little nicher ig). Its super soft out of the package and holds up well, full shade to brooklinen. All three are reasonably priced and feel higher-end than some of the bigger brand offerings in the same bracket. They also tend to last longer before you see pilling or thread fray. For washing, I usually suggest cold water, gentle detergent, and low tumble dry or hang dry if possible. Avoid fabric softeners or bleach both mess with the finish. If you like a crisper look, toss in a dryer ball or two to soften without chemicals Answer from BluwulfX on reddit.com

I am in the process of changing my bedding, and upgrading from a Queen to King. I went down the rabbit hole and got some sheet, mattress, pillow etc. Gosh, it was a very fun

Now I am trying to find a good duvet cover, do you all have recommendations? Budget is around 200-250, willing to spend a little more if the product is really great.

I got my duvet cover from pottery barn https://www.potterybarn.com/shop/bedding/duvet-covers-shams/ I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but at least everything from them seems to be good quality. I went with a 100% cotton one from the winter selection that went on clearance a while back and im pretty happy with it. [edit] they still have it, but not in the color that i bought it in. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/stewart-plaid-duvet-cover-shams-multi/ only white is left but not bad for 80$

r/Bedding on Reddit: Best duvet insert?
May 4, 2025 -

I’m honestly a bit overwhelmed by all the duvet options out there. I bought a white goose down duvet from JCPenny in college (it says "at least 75% goose down") and I’ve loved it. But now, 10 years later, it’s got yellow stains, and my wife is insisting we get a new one.

I remember some feathers poking out when I first got it, but it’s pretty much perfect now.

Any recommendations? I keep seeing silk duvets, but I like the weight of the goose down. It’s summer, so I don’t want to overheat, but we’re in New England, so it won’t stay hot for long.

I’m open to spending $200-300. Any thoughts?

Thanks

May 21, 2020 -

Looking to upgrade our bedding. We always buy some pretty cheap comforters or duvets and duvet covers and they always seem to get worn out so quickly and become less comfortable.

Looking for the best sheets, best comforter OR duvet + duvet cover.. even pillows thrown in there if someone knows of some really great ones. I get that this kinda stuff can’t really be BIFL and do need to be replaced eventually but I’m looking for something that will last! I’m in Canada by the way so looking for stuff that I can find here or ships here.

Thanks in advance!

Any suggestion for linen duvet cover and sheets? Been searching and reading a lot on these but I can't seem to find a solid choice. One of the brands I saw was Lenok in Etsy. I tried Parachute, Brooklinen, and Pottery Barn - tried so many...they are okay and I can't seem to find one to settle with lol

Any suggestions would be great as I'm looking to change up my bedding. I'm in TX, so right now it is definitely hot and it does not help that I'm a hot sleeper. My sheets right now are from Costco - 100% cotton and I don't like it.

Also, my down alternative is Pottery Barn's Hydrocool ones - they are great but I think I will be searching more for another one to compare it too.

Thanks!

I am losing my mind trying to decide where to buy a new duvet insert. I feel like a lot of the new bedding companies all end up on review lists that are “pay to play.” I am looking for something cooling but also as fluffy as it can be (while still being cooling). I bought the Brooklinen Down All-Season, but at 90” wide, it’s SUPER short for our normal (not California) king, as in, it only falls an inch and a half off the sides of the bed. It’s decently fluffy, but I’m wondering if there’s something better.

Max price is around $400. Any recs are much appreciated!

r/Bedding on Reddit: Quilt or Duvet cover that can handle frequent washing due to 🐈?
July 17, 2025 -

I'm looking for recommendations - either brands, or specific qualities/materials to look for. Ultimately: a duvet cover and/or blanket and/or quilt rec and a sheet rec.

I definitely need a new blanket/comforter situation, and would love new sheet set to match. I've been a duvet insert+cover person my whole life. I'm willing to stay that way, but lately I've been pining over the look of a quilt! They're so cute! The problem? Cat hair and washability.

I have 2 cats that sleep on my bed all day and night. They don't shed horribly, but I get icked out if I can't wash all my bedding in hot water weekly because of it.

Other fast facts:

Im highly invested in CUTE options as well. Sage x Clare is a good example of the vibes.

I'm a hot sleeper. I currently use the lightest duvet insert option from ikea with AC all year round.

My current sheets are Target Threshold cotton - I rotate between two sets, but I dont want to buy from Target or Amazon anymore.

I'm nervous about the idea of linen because I dont tolerate any roughness well.

I went to Pottery Barn to look for a duvet and duvet cover. While the duvet seemed nice, the duvet covers didn’t seem that nice at all. I thought I wanted a flax or cream colored linen duvet, but they all seemed like Target quality: Not horrible but not that nice. I ended up paying $279 for a quilt, but I got it home and it’s ugly af and not what I originally wanted. I am retuning it.

I thought PB would be quality stuff, but it didn’t seem worth the price tag at all. I did some research about the linen duvet covers, and not only did I find out PB has removed reviews from their website. But I also found on Google reviews that these duvets that are $299 are pilling, shedding, and ripping after just a few months. So forget Pottery Barn.

I looked into Brooklinen and Parachute. Both are very expensive as well. I can go to a parachute store but not a Brooklinen store. So at least I can see in person if their things are like PB’s.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? I want something that feels nice and looks nice. I would like a hotel feel to my bed but I don’t want to pay an insane amount. Are places like parachute and Brooklinen just popular because of social media? I checked out Crate and Barrel too, they’re about the same as PB as far as price vs quality.

Hey guys, brooklinen down comforter all season vs ultra warm. Let me know what you guys think. Also, brooklinen was rated top down by wire cutter and 2 different top 10 sites. It’s $360 on sale. My problem Is that it’s 85% Hutterite duck down and 15% Hutterite feathers compared to Quince 100% down. Quince luxe down looks legit but seems like most people love the brooklinen down. Quince luxe is $379 and the premium is $299.

Or if anyone has any other recommendations let me know .

Thank you!

The 6 Best Comforters of 2025 | Reviews by Wirecutter
October 20, 2025 - The ideal comforter weight for you will depend on how you sleep (cold, normal, hot) and the average room temperature (below 60 °F, 60 °F to 70 °F, 70 °F and above). For example, a hot sleeper in a 60 °F to 70 °F room should get a “light” weight. Chart: Wirecutter · You can also fine-tune the warmth of any comforter by changing the type of cover you use (see our duvet-cover picks here).
