Just upgraded to the iPhone 16 plus from the 14 pro max. I enjoy apples wired earphones but now that the phone is no longer the lightning cable but a usb c, will they be making a usb c earphone? They don’t even sell an adapter for the old earphones. I have no clue what to be using anymore

Welcome to the nightmare. If you try to use a usb c to 3.5m adapter, you will have problems. If you try to use a usc c to usb a adapter, you will have problems. If you try to use a usb c headset with a microphone, you will have problems. Bottom line, this is a long standing issue that tens of thousands of people have experienced. Apple is fully aware of the issue, and has ZERO intention of fixing it, which is shown by searching through Apple's support resources, and noting how well they dodge around the issue, and redirect people with half solutions, etc. Apple does NOT want people using wired headsets with the Iphone. Apple wants people using Apple headsets, and Bluetooth. In the alternative, Apple wants people to pay $30+ for an Apple adapter, which still doesn't work. While some have managed to find work arounds, those work arounds usually stop working after an update. I have spent years searching for a workable solution to this problem, starting with the Iphone 12, and never found a solution that works properly. I have tried every major adaptor, including all of Apple's; nothing provides a workable long term solution. Don't bother calling Apple for support, their customer service techs will pretend the issue doesn't exist, even though you can easily find 10,000+ posts on the issue with a 30 second google search. The bottom line is, this is an Apple created problem, and Apple has ZERO intention of fixing it. Selling grossly overpriced proprietary adaptors and accessories is simply too profitable.

Apple already makes USB-C earpods . They also do have an adapter for Lightning to USB-C , but it’s ridiculously priced at just under 30 dollars. Personally, if you prefer wired headphones, I would just buy a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter since 3.5mm headphones are so common and cheap.

If we talking wired then no. There are so many out there its not even funny. Just check r/iems and you will be greeted with a ton of good ones even for cheap. If its wireless then the AirPods Pro 2 or regular ones are the way to go
