I work from home and have been using the Voyager 5200 Bluetooth headset with my cellphone. However the call quality on my cell phone is unreliable. I also have a 2 line landline office phone from Poly that has a 2.5mm jack. It has an on the ear headset that has a tube that picks up sound. Problem is that it also picks up my desk fan (which the Voyager does not). I bought a cheaper headset on Amazon that had a foam piece over the mic. It was worse than the tube headset. Can someone recommend a headset that would work for my situation? I also tried an 'Office' Bluetooth gizmo from Poly that plugged into the jack but I couldn't get it to connect to my cell phone. Thanks.

If this is a corded landline phone, not sure of any possible way to make this wireless outside of adding a wireless headset to the landline phone. For example, a wireless headset like the Adapt 30 works with corded landline phones. More on reddit.com

Is it possible to move the desk fan, so it blows from a different direction, and not directly at the mic boom? The 5200 is designed for people on the move and has WindSmart technology to reduce wind noise. No office headsets have that feature, as wind is not usually an indoor issue. January 28, 2025Solution to connect Bluetooth headset to landline office phone
Unfortunately there's no Bluetooth adapter we're aware of. That being said, you may be able to add the MDA220 to be used with the Voyager 8200 UC, but the mic quality may be less than ideal for you. If microphone quality is important, you could consider getting the Orosound Tilde Pro instead to go with the MDA220. We haven't personally tested this so we can't say for certain if it will work 100% or not, but in theory it should. You'd connect the included USB Dongle that comes with the headset to the MDA220, the MDA220 connects to the RJ9 handset port of your phone, then you'd pair your headset to the computer via Bluetooth. Otherwise, you could consider another headset made for your application that connects to both your desk phone and computer like the Adapt 30 (although not over the ear). More on reddit.com
