April 22, 2024 - In fact, it still states as such in a knowledgebase article. Yet, the new cards they issue are NOT supported. So either they need to fix the new cards, or, they need to update their website.

I haven a galaxy s24 ultra purchased in Canada and a Wise card issued to me in Canada.
When i add my card to Samsung pay it says not supported. It seems to work fine on my Google wallet. Any way to fix this?

If you card was issued in Malaysia, you should be able to add it to Samsung Pay — the only countries that don't have this function are Japan, Philippines and New Zealand. WISE is a good card and the conversion rate is the market rate. If you ask me how's the experience of using it overseas, I would say it's the best and you should get it. The initial steps (activating and transferring money) might be a bit confusing, but once you have passed that stage, it's all GOOD!
BUT, I noticed that the Malaysian issued WISE card, has an issue with paywave/tap (except for public transportation) and you can't add the card to your Google Wallet / Apply Pay. So you have to either chuck the card into the terminal or swipe. I have no complaint about the security, but it can get a bit annoying since you can't tap especially if you are in hurry.
Anyone manage to solve the paywave/tap issue for retail purchase?

I've been using the Wise card before it was released here, my card was issued in Singapore so maybe it doesn't apply. I had a similar issue for the first few weeks of using it, couldn't paywave or tap, but I realized that after using it where it asks for a PIN at the terminal, paywave works ever since. You might want to use it at an ATM just to key in the PIN, and then cancel the transaction, it might do it for you. Google Pay works for me as well.

I found a workaround to it: Issue a digital card from a different country (basically change your address to another country, create a digital card, change it back to your actual address). The newly created digital card can be added to apple wallet for contactless.

Hi guys, I want to apply for this wise card, is it worth applying for? It says I need to pay RM101.00 for the card, I thought the card only cost RM13.70? Has anyone here applied for this card before?

it’s been a while so i can’t remember 100%, yes the card should cost only somewhere 13.70, but you need to top up a minimum balance the first time and that’s where the 101 is.

If you haven't registered a wise account before, using a friend's referral code when registering can get you a free physical card when you do order it. Digital cards are free, but some countries card scanners can't really scan it depending on their system. (Samsung pay can't, but Google wallet and apple pay can) so safest to ensure it works is to get the physical card.
