r/television on Reddit: 'The Witcher' Season 4 Premiere Viewership Down 35% from Season 3
November 4, 2025 - It reminded me of low rent fantasy shows from 20 years ago. Audiences have grown up since then. We got into 'Game of Thrones,' 'House of the Dragon,' and (duh) 'The Witcher.' Season 4 was a huge step backward for Witcher fans and the fantasy community as a whole.

November 5, 2025 - ... Given how a show like 1899 got 11.4 million views vs witcher season 3 15 million views and being cancelled despite costing 60 million vs witcher 175 million, that to me shows the influence that witcher executives have on Netflix itself.

December 13, 2023 -

Hi folks,

There's some really interesting data in that gigantic datadump Netflix have just done of all the most watched shows this year. Because it might be of interest to you all, here's the relevant parts:

Witcher Season 1 comes in at 171st most watched show, 72.2 million hours watched.

Witcher Blood Orgins is next, 202nd most watched, 65.3 million hours. This really surprised me.

Witcher Season 2. 233rd most watched. 59.3 million hours.

Witcher season 3. A fairly catastrophic drop to 556th. 33.4 million hours watched.

Witcher - Nightmare of the wolf. 5507th. 2.4 million hours watched.

So, yeah, some really surprising numbers in there. Who thought Blood Origins would have been so much more popular than Season 3?

Edited to add the link to the data if you want to see it yourselves:

r/GeeksGamersCommunity on Reddit: Netflix PANICS As Witcher Season 4 BOMBS With 17% Audience Score! | Henry Cavill ERASED?!
November 1, 2025 - No I disagree.. for casual viewers that are not book or game fanatics they were pretty good seasons with only a few minor complaints and you’re not going to find many other shows that are like the Witcher on Netflix. They just destroyed the entire show in Season 4 though even for casual viewers. Continue this thread ... I can't believe what they did to this series... Just horrible! And the Rats side story was awful as well.👎👎 Long live Henry Cavill the REAL Gerelt!!! The redo was stupid ... It's not all women that sides with them on the topic of everything being inclusive. Let's be honest most viewership of women was to see Henry Cavil as Geralt.

‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Viewership Has Totally Tanked On Netflix
November 5, 2025 - Funnily enough, after watching season 4 of The Witcher, I don’t even think it’s…bad? Cavill is missed, but Hemsworth is actually okay. And I would say that season 4 is better than seasons 2 and 3, at least, with a double-episode blockbuster finale that has two of the best episodes of the series. But there is no way around it; these viewership numbers are awful.

September 15, 2025 - People are automatically hating before even watching. Season 4 is an improvement from the 3rd but of course it doesn’t feel the same without Cavill. I do feel like viewership is good enough to warrant a 5th and final season.

December 6, 2023 - So if you watch 4 minutes the show is seen as "fully watched" by the netflix algorithm and so he Witcher hsow was the best new start of a show and moste watched for the month. This is how AI can work ;) Continue this thread ... Of all the episode that could have gotten the highest rating I didn't expect it to be that shitty battle of Sodden ... I feel like season 3 is bearing the consequences for how bad season 2 was.

September 26, 2025 - Season one (first half) was great. Behind the scenes it was approved for a real second season, which publicly would be seasons 3 and 4. During season 3+4 production, season 2 (second half of first season) launched the same week as Big Mouth and got absolutely crushed in viewership.

October 28, 2025 -

Alright, fellow witchers and sorceresses, let's have the real talk. The tavern’s empty, the wines gone sour, and we’re all staring at the same wanted poster for a show we used to love.

With Season 4 on the horizon, but without our white wolf Henry Cavill, and the godawful showrunner still at the helm, I have to ask the question we’re all thinking: are we just going to be hate watching this?

‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Gets Review Bombed on Rotten Tomatoes as Viewership Tumbles
November 8, 2025 - In just a week, the fourth season of Netflix's The Witcher has tumbled down the streamer's viewership charts. The latest season also received poorer reviews as compared to previous installments, and it seems to be getting review-bombed on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes as well. This isn't unusual for genre projects, especially those with a production history as turbulent as that of The Witcher. Season 4 marks the debut of Liam Hemsworth as the lead character Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill, who played Geralt in each of the three previous seasons.
