Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter

You absolutely need tickets. Don't even think about buying them there. If you can't get them, hotel concierges in London have tons of hook ups. There's a shuttle bus from a nearby train station that takes you straight to the studio. It's a good option. If you want the plastic novelty Butterbeer cup, you don't have to buy a Butterbeer. Most people just abandon theirs so you can just take one, but they're not very good quality so don't get too excited. I went today and there’s a few tips I would follow:- BOOK TICKETS IN ADVANCE!! Tickets sell like a month in advance but if you want to keep checking the website you could get a cancellation Try to book earlier in the day - once the tour starts, your in a cinema (don’t want to give spoilers..😉) and once that’s over your left to your own devices so can walk around and take as long as you like. I would say 3pm booking latest. A lot of people dress up and get right into the Hogwarts Magic so if you want to wear any magic gear you will definitely fit in! The Green Screen options are great fun! Highly recommend queuing for the opportunities and the queues don’t take too long. Can’t stress this enough, Take a break! Half way through there’s a cafe. You don’t have to buy anything but take a seat for a few minutes. Maybe bring some snacks as the cafe is fairly pricey if your bring a family. It’s a fair bit of walking so a sit down and rest is rather nice. There’s no need to rush though it, take your time and soak it in! Which leads me on to my next tip… Don’t rush! Once your in you can take as long as you like looking around so don’t feel like you have to get round it, again take in the magic!!! Try not to film/photos. I know It’s great fun to look back but being in the moment and enjoying the magic is way forward! Absolutely take some selfies but so many people walk around filming the whole thing and I think it really ruins “being in the moment” and the magic of the whole thing! This one’s personal but Butter Beers are gross! Butter beer ice cream is the way forward and highly recommend that! The shop is ridiculously expensive and half empty! Don’t get your hopes up for the shop. I absolutely recommend going, even if your not a massive potter head. It’s a magical exciting experience and I highly recommend young and old to go! Definitely worth a visit. Two things to note though: Unlike the American parks (or at least the impression I’ve got of them from the internet) this tour is not about letting you pretend you are a character in the world of HP. It’s more of a museum of how the films were made. It includes most of the original sets which is super cool, but it’s not meant to be fully immersive as if you’re in Hogwarts. It’s not in London, it’s in Watford, so it’ll take some time to get there by public transport.
