I really don’t want to buy fast fashion from Amazon, SHEIN, Fashion Nova, etc. However, I don’t have the kind of money to buy from department stores such as Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom. For example, I’m trying to find a cute sweater skirt set, and the paid and organic search results are mostly from SHEIN. I like thrifting, but given my very slim build, it’s usually hard for me to find second hand items that fit well.

Factory stores (JCrew, BR, outlet malls) and getting things on clearance. Buying fewer items, but higher quality items. In-person consignment shops in fancier neighborhoods. Accepting that maybe my wardrobe just won't have X thing in it for a while, if my options are "fast fashion that won't survive the season" or "not in my budget."

I’m trying to refresh my wardrobe a bit and was wondering where you all like to shop for women’s clothing. I’m especially looking for ideas in these categories:
Workwear – things that look polished but aren’t crazy expensive
Everyday / casual – stuff that’s comfy but still cute for running errands, meeting friends, etc.
Vacation / resort – think warm-weather trips, easy dresses, beachy vibes
Shoes – for both style and comfort (bonus if they’re good for being on your feet all day)

I shop almost entirely secondhand at this point. It’s more sustainable and I can get higher quality brands at better prices. ThredUp and TheRealReal are my two main sites, though they do both have downsides. TRR’s shipping is ludicrous, and ThredUp can have quality control issues, so read/look at images carefully and be prepared to send stuff back.
