I know the instant answer will be the LINNMON table. the desks on it look awful.
I want something that looks like the SALJAN and ALEX combination with the same dimensions without being $200.
So I got an L shaped desk two years ago and kind of miss being able to fit my mouse and keyboard on one desk as opposed to a keyboard tray (my L desk does not have long boards).
I've been looking at the Linnmon Oddvald 59" and like what I see. It's very minimal and has support as opposed to simple 4 legs that could possible collapse.
I've heard the table boards themselves aren't durable... I plan to keep speakers, a keyboard, my mouse, and two monitors (mounted with vesa) on it. Could it handle it?
Other recommendations would be appreciated.
I do a lot of small electronics and prototyping work, and always end up destroying my desk surface. I had been getting those $12 IKEA desks, which are great, but they’re flimsy and the paint takes absolutely nothing to remove. Did some digging, and ended up buying a 25”x50” slab of butcher block hardwood meant for countertops from Home Depot for $85. Transferred over the old ikea desk legs and oiled the surface of the desk, and it feels like a desk that would cost $2000 at any fancy furniture store. Highly recommend, ask me any questions you might have about it.
Edit: feel stupid for not including pics but I wasn’t home when I had the idea to post. Here it is:
