Hey there,

I replaced a door with a window, and need to install some siding below the new window.

I cannot seem to find this siding in Home Depot. I think these are individual boards which overlap. The distance on center varies, but is between 8.25 and 8.75" it seems. Here is a picture with dimensions:

Any idea where I could get something similar? Or an idea of what else I could do to fill the siding gap?

I have a section of cedar lap siding that needs replaced. It's a dormer, so not very visible from the ground.

Menards is charging $5-$6 per sq.ft - and I'd have to drive like 1.5 hours each way to get it. I've read Home Depot's cedar siding is not good quality.... where would you buy from, and what's a fair price these days (post-canadian wildfires and covid)?

As an alternative, Hardie Plank.... Home Depot is selling lap siding at less than $2 per sq. ft. ...... which is pretty tempting. It's made to look like Cedar, and considering it's a dormer and not easily visible, the mismatch with existing cedar might not matter.
