Look at LL flooring. They’ve been running a Rubberwood top for $99 every holiday lately. I think they’re $119 normally. Most stores have in stock (use to be Lumber Liquidators). Just slap some poly on it and you’ll be good to go. Otherwise, route the edges, sand the crap out of it, 4 coats of poly and 12 of wax (what I did). https://i.imgur.com/PwGm87M.jpg

I bought a simple dining table from walmart to use as table top for my standing desk. It was on sale for $60 because i liked the size. 58” wide x35” deep. If you dont care about the top being a specific/authentic wood material, it’s cheaper and bigger than some options at ikea. Hi,
I am looking to get an ALL solid wood surface standing desk - either walnut or (preferably) black walnut. Ideally, I would like to get the frame and surface from same company and have it predrilled since I would be adverse to trying to drill straight holes and measuring, etc. This would be my first st home sit stand desk, and I am not too familiar with assembly and all the things that I need. I see a lot of accessories being offered from different companies that I seem to like, but don’t know are totally necessary. It seems to make my cart very expensive from place to place.
TLDR - I am looking for the best quality all walnut desk, stable frame (maybe 4 legs), and motor. Recommendations on best power and cable management (either from the company you recommended or 3rd party).

I have the UpLift all Walnut slab desk. We love it, it’s beautiful and we get compliments on it constantly. We got the dual arm for monitors and a few other bells and whistles. No misses at all with the motor, we have had it over a year. Will be getting another when we move and need a second desk in the office.

I just splurged on two Uplift v2 commercial desks for me and my wife. We chose their wide-plank walnut surfaces (as opposed to their butcher block). I believe the wide-plank is one of their most expensive tops. I only mention this because, as a hobbyist woodworker, I was prepared to build my own, but slabs and surfacing/finishing take time and money that I don't have right now. For the price, the frame is incredible and the tops are much nicer than expected. These particular tops cost only a little more than I would spend on raw material, let alone the time and money to finish them. The pre-drilled holes match up perfectly with the frame, but I'm still struggling with what to get for aftermarket cable management. The surface comes with holes pre-drilled for the basics: frame, basic cable management device (Uplift seemed too flimsy, so I opted out of that), and the toggle device for the height adjustment. You will need to drill your own holes for anything beyond that. Their accessories leave a bit to be desired, so consider getting the desk and frame and waiting to measure for aftermarket accessories. Regarding promos, I did receive an additional discount. I heavily researched other brands and competitors and put a shopping cart together with Uplift when I thought I was ready to purchase (including a Honey coupon code and the Uplift promo). I called to speak with a sales rep to confirm I had all the necessary pieces, accessories, etc. that I may need. They asked me to screenshot the cart and send it over for review. They returned the next day with an updated order that included everything plus a deeper discount than what I was already working with. I don't recall the specifics, but it was a few hundred dollars less than I was prepared to spend. I am pleased with everything so far.
