Does anyone have a wool duvet they love? I've been considering getting one for a while now but am trying to decide between Woolino amd Woolroom. Open to others as well though. Live in the Midwest and I go back and forth between hot and cold at night.

My husband bought me/us Woolino's king comforter for Christmas and we want to protect while maintaining its temp-regulating properties as much as possible (we hate sleeping hot.)
Do I need a linen duvet cover to keep it breathable? The thought of us spending hundreds on the comforter and now a cover is just a lot right now. (Especially because we have a toddler, and who knows what accidents can happen. Also we have a cat that sleeps on the bed and her claws could ruin linen I imagine.)
What other duvet cover materials are recommended to keep it breathable?
Thank you.
Edit: If anyone comes cross this we ended up going with Cultiver's linen duvet cover and are happy with it.
I'm looking for a wool comforter. Thinking woolroom or woolino. Want washable. I am using a down down comforter now but it's so hot. I do like the fluffiness. Will the wool comforter be super flat? Also I would like loops on it to secure a linen cover on it. Thanks!
“I am in the process of researching wool duvet inserts and would appreciate your recommendations. Could you share your favorite brands and what specifically makes them stand out to you?"
Thank you!
Does anyone have suggestions for quality wool comforters/duvet that aren't from Frankenmuth? I hear so many good things on this sub about them, but my experience was not good. I had ordered one from them, but the king size was definitely smaller than advertised on the website by several inches and did not fit my bed as it should have. I had even measured where it would fall based on website measurements prior to ordering. I had reached out about it when I opened it, and they offered that I could keep the incorrect size at half price, or ship a replacement. I expressed that ideally I'd like something that fits. Then the next day, the tune seemed to change, and I was told the sizing discrepancy was normal and that dimensions on the site are actually when you stretch it out and not finished dimensions.
Long story short, the customer service made me extremely uncomfortable since it seemed they wanted to backpedal, seemed to change their mind, and also expected me to pay to return it even though the measurements were not as advertised. So now I am reluctant to try their oversized King because of this experience, and I don't know the unstretched measurement to verify if it would even fit.
Are there other places to get quality wool comforters/duvet? Are there other places that might offer an oversized king if it is indeed normal for these to be quite a bit shorter than advertised? Any insight would be appreciated.
After tireless months of searching for the right duvet insert, I’ve finally landed on a wool filled insert. My fiancé and I are both extremely hot sleepers and I’ve been looking for breathable, durable bedding. Based off what I’ve seen on this sub (and some others) wool appears to be the way to go.
There’s several different brands and stores to choose from to source it, my top picks right now are Woolino and WoolRoom. I know about Frankenmuth Wool but it’s just not in our budget at the moment. I’ve also seen a few recommendations for the IKEA wool duvets, but I’d be willing to splurge if there was an option that was a little higher quality.
Would anybody be able to give any recommendations or reviews on the above brands? Is there another I should consider, or any stores that sell high-quality wool duvets?
I’m a hot sleeper looking to upgrade my current setup (currently just sleeping with a soft blanket lol). Have been doing research on this thread for months, and think I have narrowed it down to buying a wool duvet with a cotton shell for breathability.
Thinking about purchasing from either Woolino and Woolroom, but wanted to inquire about the upkeep. I saw a tiktok where someone said their wool duvet smelled earthy and I almost got the ick. Were they exaggerating?
Also, I do not have the means to line dry the comforter, as I live in Texas where its hot and humid 24/7. Is spreading it out across table chairs to dry as suitable? Feeling decision paralysis and anything will help!
I love the feel and weight and breathability and quality of the woolino comforter but it's not warm enough for me. It's a shave that they only have one weight /warmth. Is the woolroom warm comforter warmer than the woolino?
I've heard good things about the wool comforters sold at Ikea but I'm not finding anything on the website. Am I missing something? Could anyone provide a link please?
After 15 years, my down duvet is on it's last legs and I'm looking for a somewhat more ethical alternative. Ideally looking for an ethically made brand that will survive Canadian winters and summers. Would love to keep it under 350$ if possible!
I am in need of a warmer blanket with winter quickly approaching, and I thought a duvet would be a good long-term investment. I'm not particularly fond of down filling, so I was wondering if anyone knew of good options for a wool-filled duvet insert. Thanks!
Edit: I saw in previous requests for duvets in general that The Company Store was a fairly popular choice, so I am leaning towards their wool duvet, especially since there's a sale at the moment.
Super hot sleeper, live in Florida, I need a new comforter. How do we feel about either brand? Thanks
I have been considering a wool comforter because I run hot (the partner runs cold).
I have read reviews of the various companies and have considered ones from all of them.
I ordered one from Woolino, but just had to send it back without trying it because I did not read the return policy correctly and didn’t realize I would not try it and send it back. So I didn’t even get to spend one night with it.
I am strongly considering Sonoma Wool (and own the topper), but it’s so much more expensive than any of the others I’m considering. It does seem heavier (twice as heavy as the Woolino). I also know they do one sale a year, but just missed it a few months ago.
Would love feedback back from people who own them and have experience. Do you like it? Do you like wool comforters in general?
Thanks in advance!
At first my interest was piqued by Woolino sleep sacks. I love that wool can help regulate temperature and take some of the guess work out to whether or not baby is too hot. But we I kept thinking about it I've gotten confused. Can the wool do any good as a temperature regulator if it's not in direct contact with your skin? Wouldn't it be better to get wool pajamas (which Woolino makes) and then whatever sleep sack you want? Help me out here...
Hello, with the cold snap around Christmas in the US, I've been re-evaluating my cold weather preps. One thing I'm considering is a wool comforter. I used to have one my aunt made, but passed it on to my sister once she had her first baby.
I was thinking of buying (or possibly making one) for myself. I already have a wool blanket, but a comforter sounds nice for being at home if the heating fails. My current wool blanket has a bit of an odor, but I'd like to avoid that for regular use bedding.
Note: I'm not considering down because it hits me in my allergies.
Does anyone have a wool comforter? Any recommendations on brands?
Edit: I didn't think to address the language differences around comforter vs duvet. I'm thinking of a big fluffy blanket. I currently use what we call a duvet cover in the US. I'd probably be using a duvet cover with whatever fluffy blanket I go with, since it's easier than washing the whole blanket constantly (I have cats)
Here's a link to one brand I'm considering. Should give people an idea what I'm referring to when I say comforter.
