That’s right, Wootility V5 is now out of beta! The focus for V5 was to create a coherent and clean experience, simplify management of your profiles and rethinking the way you navigate around Wootility for all your possible keyboard settings.
For Wootility, this is only just the beginning of this new and improved version, as as we have a lot of planned features to add in the future!
So let’s look at some of the highlights!
Enhanced Profile Management
Everything is now bundled in one single menu
An overview of your active- and inactive profiles
Allow for a personal touch with banners and icons for your profiles
New control and keyboard features
You can now drag an area to select keys
You can now double-click to select keys with the same configuration
Visualize arbitrary information with the Wooting 80HE’s Light Indicator
Rapid Trigger sensitivity can now be set individually per key (not available on AVR devices due to memory/flash storage limitations)
Improved device handling
Reduced issues that could occur when using 3rd party RGB apps
Improved device connection handling relating to firmware updates
While updating firmware, Wootility-related notifications will no longer show.
Devices are detected quicker
Additionally, we also shipped a lot of bug fixes and smaller quality of life updates with this release as well. For a full list of these you can read the Wootility changelog. Wootility V5 is both available on desktop and as download, you can find both here.
Let us know what you think
Want to keep talking about anything Wootility related? You can do so in our Discord server in the special Wootility channel. For your thoughts and feedback, the devs would like you to fill in this survey as this will help them tremendously with the shape of Wootility for the future. We will raffle away two Wooting 80HEs among all submissions.
Seeing all of this and thinking: “TLDR”. Of course we got you covered with a video where we take you on a tour on V5 Wootility! Don’t worry, it’s really not that scary, but Sander will hold your hand and guide you through it.
On behalf of Simon, Pola and the rest of the dev team, thank you in advance for your feedback, comments and compliments for Wootility! They can’t wait to read what you have to say.
I have these set as my actuation points. However, all of them actuate at 0.4mm (based on the visual feedback) rather than what I set each key individually as.
I'm not a fan of this new interface. It feels too clunky/complicated, unlike the old one which was pretty straightforward. Maybe it just takes getting used to, but is there a way for us to revert to the old one?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Wootility v5.0.0-beta.3
One very important change with this release was the inclusion of a new set of fixes for the freezing issue which has affected a small subset of 80HE users. This is something we've been very focused on resolving, as it is very annoying if you encounter it, and we do not consider switching to 1000Hz polling to be anything other than a temporary workaround.

if i don't have wootility running it doesn't remember my profiles... I see lots of documentation saying you don't need to have it running but I do need to. Why is this?
Is there an app for the beta firmware or is it just online?
Thanks
Recently found out about the new SOCD feature and for some reason i cant see the new features in my desktop application, only in the Wootility web app. Should i just delete the Desktop application and only use the web app?
Hey guys,
Do I need to launch the web based wootility to reload the custom profile to keyboard after every restart? I see that the led color scheme stays, but not sure if the rapid trigger settings carry over after a restart.
Thanks,
J
I had some issue with my Wooting 80HE right after the newest update (about two days old keyboard). The keyboard 'timed out', could not be initialized, and did not show up in the wootility v5.
Disconnecting and connecting, changing the cable or switching the USB input did nothing.
Luckily I got it to woork by plugging it in another computer, and plugging it back in my main computer.
I thought I'd send a support case to Wooting with a good description on what was going on, in case this was not a known bug/issue. The challange now is that the text is too long, and there is no indicator on how long the text can be. Hope they change this in the future, so that they can get as detailed support cases as needed. Or at least get a counter for how many characters you have left.
Not sure what flaire to use, I'm sorry if it's the wrong one.
By the way, I haven't used it much, but I love the feal, the sound and the size of the 80HE. Looking forward to exploring it more.
