Initially I just swapped out page up / page down with home and end as I use those more frequently and can still access them in the FN layer. However, I realised that I don’t press insert ever (like I literally do not recall using this button in my whole life), so I went with this: Mode swapped to delete (bit unconventional but similar to how a laptop is) Insert swapped to home Delete swapped to end Page up / page down left as they are Prt sc and pause left as they are (pause is my discord mute key) Then in the FN layer I reassign a mode key as it’s only used for me to switch between RGB off / RGB on profile. One limitation of this layout is that it’s not entirely feasible to change the keycaps (using the stock ones) as they are different heights so it will both look and feel weird. Really though this is the beauty of having great software like Wootility; you can set it up however you want for whatever works best for you! I still prefer the normal TKL layout over this funky 80% one, but am very happy with my 80HE and have made it work for me. The only thing I would like is to be able to assign £ and € as a key in the FN layer as it’s annoying having to use the Win + . menu to get these symbols using the ANSI layout. Right now, I have them set to the default layout, but seeing as I don’t use either of them (except for prt sc, my beloved), I might remap them to something that’s more useful for me.

Modded my 80he and love it. Currently, have two profiles that I use, a gaming and typing profile. For my typing profile, It looks like any colour I use, the spacebar rgb is way too strong. I don't see any intensity settings in wootility. Even with the stock keycaps that came with the wooting, the lighting intensity is still the same. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ultimately as long as the keycaps are cherry mx stem based, and you get north facing keycaps (if you want backlit keycaps to light up properly), you should be good to do. There's just a tiny detail you need to take into account - the bottom row keycap sizes. You need to use the standard shown as all green keycaps in this guide from WASD (under Modifier Compatibility) https://support.wasdkeyboards.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009701328-Keycap-Size-Compatibility

Technically every keycap set that is CherryMX-Compatible works with the 80HE. Make sure you get the same layout (ISO vs ANSI) and you should be good to go

July 13, 2016 - I've just recieved my Wooting 80HE and its a great keyboard I am really enjoying it. However after putting the rapid profile it seems to be pressing 1 slightly all the time. I dont know if it is supposed to be like that?

So I've been using the wooting 60he for about a month now and it's pretty good. I've been getting used to typing on it and I've finally gotten used to it. I get about 120 WPM on monkeytype. I was wondering if someone has a profile that is optimized/better for typing then the standard gaming profile. I'm using 0,3mm actuation and 0.15mm rapid trigger on my current gaming profile.
UPDATE- After personal testing I found very low actuation point (0.2mm), and rapid trigger at the lowest is actually the best for me, I got up to 140 WPM after a few days on monkeytype weirdly enough. You have to tailor it to yourself and find what makes you the best.

I think Optimal is an individual assessment. I’m not the greatest typist so I like 1.5 to not accidentally double press a key and then have better accuracy. I think the question you gotta ask is what do you need from the keyboard to improve some area of your typing

I'm using 1.0mm on all buttons - avg 180WPM on monkeytype / typeracer 140-150ish (fuck punctuation) that's for my typing profile. And I have gaming profile which is wasd on 0.1 and few other specific buttons like ctrl 0.5, space 1.5, win button 4.0
