Anyone know of any places that hire remote work from home jobs in NYC, i need this urgently!
Edit: Entry level jobs, preff cust service, or smth in IT
hey, just being real, I’m broke as hell right now. rent’s a lot, groceries feel like a luxury, and I’ve been trying to find anything online that’s actually legit and not just “take this survey for 5 cents.”
I’m in NYC, trying to figure out if there’s any kind of real work from home stuff people are doing out here. not tryna get rich, just need to stay afloat.
if you’ve got anything that’s worked for you like remote gigs, part-time stuff, freelance, whatever, please drop it. even if it’s boring. I just need something that pays.
appreciate any help 🙏
I’m currently living In Brooklyn NY and I’m a teacher assistant working with disabled middle/high schoolers. My background is that I have a bachelors in speech therapy.
I really want to work from home because I’m tired of my long commutes in the winter and just haven’t been feeling well lately working around kids.
I guess it doesn’t have to be work from home but something not too strenuous or backbreaking that I can transition to… I guess a desk job .
Most remote job postings I found exclude New York, and most job search sites don't really have options to search for them. If I search remote jobs in New York, I'll scroll through the job description and see NY is excluded even though I searched for ones specifically hiring in New York.
Does anyone here do remote work in New York and/or know businesses' which do hire New York Applicants?
I do not have a degree but have some progress in a bachelors for IT. Unsure when/if ill finish.
I have moderate experience in customer service, finances (mostly making and processing financial excel sheets/macros), and Accounts Payable/ Receivable.
any help is appreciated.
Here's a fresh list of remote jobs - you either have to live in New York, or nationwide (no state restrictions).
Have a great week!

Hey i am looking for remote jobs or WFH that are legit and hire fast. I’m willing to accept any wage per hour as i just need a source of income. I am willing to do training to get a better job that’s remote or WFH as well. All tips & places are appreciated !!!
You and 8 million other people
Like I ask everyone, what is your current profession? Do you have any skills? When you say, you don't care about income? You have to have some sort of standards or expectations. A wfh or remote is a location, we need you to build a resume or at least have a plan of action.
I’ve been searching for a remote job that pays well enough to support living in NYC, but I’m really struggling to find something legit. Most listings I come across either seem sketchy, underpaid for the cost of living here, or turn out to be too good to be true after digging deeper. I’m not looking for job-specific advice like becoming a virtual assistant or trader just general tips or resources from people who’ve successfully landed solid remote gigs that can keep up with expenses in a place like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated
As a homebody, not having to dress up for work and commute every morning sounds like a dream.

Account Director - East at DocuSign
Senior Director, HR at DoorDash
Accounts Payable Associate at Etsy
Customer Success Associate at Omada Health
SVP of Demand Generation at Jobvite
Technical Sourcing Recruiter at Salesforce

Hi I’m on the look out for a job that allows me to work from home? I’m located in NY. I have 7 years experience working in a law firm doing data entry, filing, scanning, copying. I need to work from home due to a mother that isn’t well enough for me being out of the house for 35-40 hours a week. Can anyone help?
Hi all, I’m switching to a remote job and moving to Manhattan (63rd/lex) in June. I wanted to ask other WFH’ers in the city how they get out of the house during work hours? I normally love staying in and being in my place, but being in NYC I want to get out and experience it. I think a major part of that experience is commuting, being in an office etc. Plus I’d like to meet new people. I’ve thought of a few ideas.
Please comment what you guys do or any thoughts regarding my ideas.
WeWork periodically: I went to wework in Dumbo recently and it was cool. Could definitely get pricey if I wanted to do it more frequently.
Get a gym membership like lifetime/equinox or anywhere that also has a workspace built in? I need a gym membership too so this would be 2 birds 1 stone.
Outside of this, no clue. Thoughts/ideas all welcomed.

hi everyone,
i’m bit nervous posting this but i’ve been on the job hunt since january and really need a part-time job. i’m currently a masters student, writing my masters thesis therefore full-time work will add too much to my current workload. before this though i did work full-time all through my grad school curriculum. i have a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, about 3 years of experience in customer service and 1.5 years in digital marketing. my experience at the moment means nothing since i’m at a point where i just want the opportunity to make an income. i’m not asking for much but i’ve been getting rejected from literally anywhere, sales associate jobs included (got rejected for a seasonal role at macy’s). i’d like help with any leads, or maybe some advice on how to tailor my resume for part-time non-corporate roles? i feel like my current resume lets the part-time roles hiring managers know i’m “overqualified” which sucks because truthfully i did corporate for 3 years and i’m okay with trying something else. i’m rambling but anything helps, please and thank you!
p.s. i want a role with scheduling flexibility so like afternoons, evenings and i don’t mind working weekends.
I’m tired of working and bussing my ass everyday to go to work in this cold ass weather.
I work as a Teacher Assistant and don’t like it very much …I just want to self isolate and work from home.
Any suggestions???my bachelors degree is in speech therapy (I can’t practice speech therapy I need the masters for that btw) if that helps much ?
Hey all, looking for legit work-from-home jobs based in NYC. Open to admin, customer service, writing, or similar. Any leads appreciated!
Hey guys,
I’ve been trying to find some legit work-from-home opportunities that are part-time and don’t require experience, but it’s been hard to tell what’s real and what’s just fluff.
I’m open to anything, data entry, customer service, writing, etc, as long as it’s remote, flexible, and pays at least a little something.
If you’ve personally had success with any platforms, jobs, or side gigs that fit this, I’d love to hear about them. I’m not expecting to get rich, just looking for something reliable to get started.
Thanks in advance, really appreciate any help or guidance…
Edit: Just wanted to share my experience — I tried a lot of things, and here’s what actually worked for me.
I used EliteSurveySites to find high paying survey panels, read their tips, and signed up for a few panels they recommended. At first, I barely made anything, just a few cents here and there. But after a couple of months, things picked up. Now I’m making over $1500 a month with a mix of BrandedSurveys, SurveyJunkie, and others.
I also started doing simple writing gigs like captions for Instagram and LinkedIn, and i make around $200-$300 per month from this.
I started posting affiliate content in pet forums, which brings in around $100–$150 from last month, but it seems the number of clicks are growing day by day. So, I’m expecting more from this.
Hope this helps. I'll update this post if I come across anything else worth sharing.
I'm fully remote and always work from home but would like to enjoy some other places I can work since the weather is getting warmer. so where do you go to work when you don't want to stay in the house?
Hello all!
As the title says I am moving to NYC next week and I make $190k remote work. Very excited for the move. I just want a bit of perspective here I suppose. I have a pretty chill job and work like 5 hours a day. Been at this company for 3 years. So I feel like living in NYC will be great.
I just spent the past two years traveling the world working remote and am now ready to lay some roots down somewhere very social and gay friendly. And hopefully find a partner (changing my home base country every three months didn’t help much in the dating department)
I hear the cons: the cost of living, the hussle bussle, etc.
But I feel with my comfortable salary and work life balance I will be able to love the city with out a lot of these cons.
Any other cons? How bad is dating? Gay dating? I know I can live somewhere for way cheaper any where else in the US. But I just feel drawn to NYC. Any recs to finding communities? Groups of friends? Etc.? Any guidance is helpful! This is a big move!
