Usually I am a purist and only use whetstones. I recently got a Ken onion Worksharp and bought the grinder attachment. I must say I am impressed. Ive used a Worksharp grinder in the past and did t really care for it but the grinder attachment is a big game changer
Hello everyone- I will start to sharpen knives at my local farmers market - I bought the Ken onion Mastersharp with the Grinder attachment- could anyone advise best practices for kitchen knives? Scissors ? I’ll be doing a lot of practice before the markets start and wanted a head start as to which angle to use, and belts will cover the majority of kitchen knives and scissors ? I hope to also sharpen lawnmower blades and garden tools, so if anyone can share their experiences using this set up, I would be a million times grateful for a professional opinion- thanks group!
I picked up a precision adjust about a week ago and love the results I’m getting from it. All my edc’s are screaming sharp and have gotten near mirror edges with stropping/ compound. I’m left wondering though if it is worth it to get the ken onion edition specifically with the blade grinding attachment? Will one produce sharper edges than the other given that I have good technique? I know there’s always debate about convex vs V edges so that will be something that will play a factor. I do plan on getting into making my own knives eventually but just trying to get a feel for expectations if I do decide to get the KO edition. As I’m new to this community and the knife hobby in general, what do you all think?
