Workstation build
I'm looking to build a PC gaming workstation that will last me 10+ years.
What is a Workstation PC?
What is the Most Important Workstation PC Component?
What Can a Workstation Computer Be Used For?
Hello everyone.
I'm looking to build an awesome workstation/office setup from scratch and am looking for any input ideas/do's and don'ts. My company switched from paper to digital documents and I try to get a good workflow and am grazeful for any tips and tricks.
Budget for technical components up to 3000$ (preferably less).
The PC itself will be given by my employer.
What will I be doing on the desktop? I'll be mostly drafting contracs. That means I'll always have the following tabs open:
-
Word (one tab)
-
explorer (one tab)
-
mail/calendar (one tab, maybe on a separate small screen?)
-
multiple PDFs (one or more tabs)
What will you be using besides the desktop PC? For meetings I'll be using an e-ink tablet (remarkable/onyx boox/...) and/or maybe a laptop. So easy file-sharing and charging of these devices would be awesome. Maybe some kind of docking station?
What's on my shopping list:
-
sit-/standing desk (separate budget)
-
ergonomic chair (separate budget)
-
one or more monitors (is it better for my use case to have a single big one? A curved? A big and small ones?
-
monitor arms (which ones?)
-
additional gadgets (docking station, small screen for calendar, ...)
Thank you for any input :-)
