I guess it may depend on what the actual job is, where it's located... if you work in a constuction company office or are in rural Texas, they'd probably be more normal than if you're working at a tech startup in Silicon Valley or an ad agency in New York. it also depends on the specific office... some are more conformist, while others are more free wheeling when it comes to how individuals dress.
