Turning off Google Activity (specifically Web & App Activity) stops Google from saving your searches and browsing history to your Google account. However, this does not mean your search history is completely private. Here’s who might still see it: 1. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) – Your ISP can still see your search and browsing history unless you use a VPN. 2. Your Employer or School – If you’re on a work or school network, administrators may track your activity. 3. Your Browser History – If you don’t clear your browser’s history, searches may still be visible there. 4. Google (for a Short Time) – Even with activity turned off, Google may temporarily log searches for spam and abuse detection. 5. Your Device Logs – If your device stores search history locally (like Chrome’s autocomplete or search suggestions), you’ll need to clear it separately. Think twice before thinking you are off the hook for any „special“ searches. Also, don’t use Google Chrome for trying to hide searches. Use Mullvad Browser, TOR browser, Brave, just to name a few.
