What is your goto WYSIWYG Editor?
seeking a fully open-source, free, wysiwyg editor that is easy to customize and extend
reactjs - Is there a wysiwyg editor that supports template variables? - Stack Overflow
Why not use WYSIWYG(drag and drop) editors?
tell him you want a website that will allow a user to log in with a password, upload documents, enter data and view a dynamic chart or graph of the the data they have submitted ... that will throw him off your trail. good luck getting wix to do that.
in all seriousness, iโve used wix to develop sites for people and made a grand here or there from that, even though i am a full stack web developer by profession. if all you care about is getting something out there quick, wix is fine, but if you want anything more advanced, youโll have to learn to code.
More on reddit.comThere are many WYSIWYG Editors out there, but some are very old and the dev experience is quite bad. Some are headless with many plugins and need a lot of time to tune them to your liking.
I am looking for a very simple WYSIWYG Editor, if possible just an import and then specify an id. What are your goto WYSIWYG Editors?
Edit: Sorry I was not clear enough. I am not looking for a Website Builder, I am looking for an Editor where a User can write something like a Blog Post.
I have found several. Like ProseMirror, Slate, DraftJs, Quill, EditorJS, TinyMCE, TipTap etc.
Here is the text edtior I have for now, snap: https://imgur.com/ANWN16v
I want to keep these cools wysiwyg editors like tinymce or ckeditor. But the thing is they are for API, not fully open source. Really hard to write plugin or modify.
Do you guys have any suggestion? Other than these, fully open source.
I have tried editorjs but that's block editor. I am looking for something out of the box solution, so that I can add my plugin or extension easily.
React Mentions does this very nicely IMO. You can use markup and displayTransform attributes to transform the entry into a tag like structure. Also the data attribute will let you define the available selections.
I recommend you to use tiptap framework. This is an headless wysiwyg that gives you full control on the editor.
They provide a simple extension system which could perfectly match your need.
