Build a tower straight up until you get harpies (or perhaps a little higher), then build a flat bridge out horizontally. If you build up far enough, you will start to get low gravity, which, in conjunction with spectre/rocket boots, helps. When the wyvern spawns, do not run around. Wait for the wyvern to charge you, then sidestep. If you have a very long bridge, run along the length of it. When the wyvern "charges you" from behind, fire off any kind of piercing weapon (demon scythe, magic missile, flails, etc.). Any strategy that you would use to defeat the Eater of Worlds can be adapted to defeat wyverns. Particularly effective weapons are: Demon Scythe Flails Phoenix blaster Clockwork Assault Rifle The wyvern has 20 defense, so when picking weapons, be sure to pick weapons with relatively high damage. If we don't build a skybridge wyverns won't spawn, as they only spawn up in the sky. If you are really lazy you could also just use a floating island if you want, totally up to you. The bridge does make things easier battle potions lets you increase enemy spawn rates.

Hey,
First mini hard boss fight and come across easy way to kill it + how to dodge without potions etc!
Any tips you discovered yourself that I overlooked?

The easiest method for killing wyverns that I've found also works for all the end game bosses. Just stand still on a platform made of meteorite ore and beat on it 'til it's dead. The meteorite ore will damage you for very low damage while ~99% of the wyvern's or bosses' attacks will not hit because you're invincible between hits from the meteorite. Add in a star cloak or cross necklace for extra fun.

Went to the nearest floating island, fought a bunch of harpies but no wyvern. Built a skybridge 1000 blocks long and can't get wyverns to spawn at any point on it. Tried jumping to random high places with ice rod, still no dice. What gives? Do they only spawn if Plantera is defeated now?
