Considering the price difference, the X-E5 just doesn’t make sense unless portability is your top priority. Personally, the viewfinder is a big letdown coming from an X-T3, it would feel like a downgrade, even though that camera came out in 2018.

I’d rather wait or look for a used X-T5 instead.

Do you think the X-T5 will get some of the new software features they announced today? Like the Classic Display mode, digital zoom, film simulation management, etc.?

Hey everyone!

I’m just getting into photography and looking to buy my first serious camera. After doing some research, I’ve narrowed it down to two Fujifilm options: the X-T5 and the new X-E5.

I’m not a professional — just someone who’s excited to explore photography as a hobby. I care about image quality, learning manual settings, and maybe doing some travel or street photography. I’m willing to invest in a good setup but also don’t want to overwhelm myself right from the start.

What I’m wondering: • Is the X-T5 worth the cost for a beginner? • Is the lack of weather sealing on the X-E5 a big deal for someone just starting? • Would one of them be better for learning and growing into photography?

Any thoughts, especially from people who’ve used either one, would be super appreciated. Also open to lens recommendations if you have any!
