I’ve got an Xbox gift card a few days ago, but my Xbox one has been offline for a while as my wifi is down. Is there a way to redeem the code on my phone so I can at least have the money on my account?

I had received 6 months worth of xbox live as a present from my mother sometime ago but my live was fully stacked so I just kept the cards on my desk, today I try redeeming them but it says they are not active! I call support but they say I must track down the receipts (I'm sure it's impossible) so basically a good present was sent down the drain. You would think support could see date of when codes are purchased but apparently not.

It'd be ideal to do it on SmartGlass so it'll start downloading on my xbox at home but online will work too I've heard. But I can't find where to do it.

Hey all, just looking for some advice. Finding customer service for Microsoft / Xbox seems so confusing and I couldn’t find any answers online. Recently a family member got my son a new Xbox for Christmas, and emailed me the codes for the 2 games they had gotten him to go along with it. I followed the directions in the email, did it all on the console itself, and when I was done got a message of “successfully redeemed, to check download progress go to ‘my games and apps.’” (Or something along those lines). But the games never showed up. Tried giving it a couple days, tried redoing the redemption and it said “This code has already been redeemed.” I’m sure I’m missing something but can’t figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated

Following a link in the email from microsoft about how to redeem a code for gpu - and the page does not exist: “We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found”. Is this a typical MS bug or is it new? Anyway to redeem a code besides this page?

/edit - My credit card info on file at MS was out of date. I fixed it and was able to redeem the code. I’ll leave this post up in case anyone else encounters this.

The date is 15th May 2025 and in the past I used Nord VPN to redeem Xbox game pass ultimate (India) codes from Eneba and it worked for an Australian console gamer like me. Now I'm reading about that Microsoft have made several changes to this kind of method.

Since I'm unable to find definitive answers online, I'm asking here for current methods of getting it to work on existing accounts. What region and VPN's can it work.
