Ive been wanting to get back into playing for a while now,Im a beginner and i had the Yamaha-p44 but lost it in a house fire unfortunately. Nothing has quite engaged me as much as learning Piano so i really want to invest in a decent one. What are your opinions about the YamahaP-125 deluxe bundle on guitar center? Is it worth it? Thanks for all the help!

Those packs usually give you a wobbly bench/stand, You can do better finding your own or even building your own. Nothing wrong with the P125, but It doesn't make sense to buy anymore because yamaha's new DGX670 is insanely better value.

The Yamaha P-125 is one of the most widely recommended entry level digital pianos, so it's not a bad choice. As far as buying a bundle, if you were planning to buy those specific extras anyway, it's probably a good deal, yes. If there are items that you wouldn't have bought outside the bundle, it's a lot less likely to be worth it for you. For the black deluxe bundle on the Guitar Center website, the key stickers are a waste: don't bother using them. The bench and stand are going to be okay, but nothing special. The headphones are also cheap ones -- they retail individually for $20. So that specific bundle wouldn't be one I'd go for, personally. I would be more inclined to go with the bundle that included the wooden stand and LP-1 pedal unit, but if you expect to be moving your instrument around fairly often or don't care about the three pedal unit, then that one wouldn't be worth it for you.

Getting my kids a Yamaha P125 piano with the stand and pedal package for $699. Employees told me its worth it to get the extended warranty package (5 yr $199 extra). They said if ANYTHING were to happen in those 5 years, I'd literally get a full amount $699 gift card if it can't be repaired). What do you guys think? is it worth it? How long (in your experience) does a piano that's well taken care of last? aside from accidental damages like spilled water or something.

You are better off self insuring for anything cheap (cheap is relative of course, but less than a few thousand probably qualifies for most). Take the money you would normally spend on something like this and stuff it in a separate savings account. In no time you'll have thousands in cash and not have had to replace anything. When something does break outside of manufacture warranty you can replace it with a new/used version as you see fit. Also, employees always tell you it is worth it to spend money 😂 Note, this doesn't mean you can't sometimes come out ahead with these warranties, but these companies are in the business of making money, so by definition it is costing more to insure it than the company is paying out. I also have never seen a digital piano fail within 5 years (sample size ~15). Not saying it can't happen, but it's not likely.

March 20, 2023 - Big retail like Guitar Center had totally hit or miss selection, and actual piano stores usually only carry a handful of DPs mostly higher end than things like a p45 or p125.
