Weirdest one I’ve personally heard: my friend from South Carolina likes to ask people what they call the phenomenon when it rains while the sun is shining. I’ve always heard it called a sunshower (I’m from Texas). Whatever part of South Carolina he’s from will say “the devil’s beating his wife” to indicate this weather event is occurring.

May be a New England thing but I first heard in in the South. "Aren't you sweet!" A tactful way to call someone an idiot. More of a southern lady thing. It took me a while to get used to southerners calling lunch "dinner" and dinner "supper".

It's mostly a southern thing, but we've slowly been propagating it around the rest of the country. Now the variants of y'all, like y'all'd've or y'all're are pretty much still exclusively southern in my experience.
