YouTube music is infinitely superior to Spotify in terms of utility.

"Spotify is morally superior." is an interesting take considering the controversies surrounding their payment(to artists) structure. Not being able to play music in the background(on mobile) completely renders the free version of youtube music useless to me. On PC spotify(free version) I can listen to my albums in order no problem same as Youtube. If i'm going to pay for either of them i'd rather use Spotify. More on reddit.com

I don't know how, but I opened YouTube Music today, and a message popped up saying "Hey, you have YouTube Music Premium for 2 weeks for free" and I was just like... Wtf? Because they didn't show me an ad for it that I clicked off, or anything like that, I just... Had it... And I checked, YEAH, I HAVE IT. I turned my phone off, the music was still playing; I got off the app, music was still playing... Is this normal? Can they really just... Give you Premium without warning, for free? And just to know, I haven't used YouTube Music for a LONG time. Like, last time I used it instead of the actual app was probably back in 2024... So... Is this normal?
