I can confirm that at least for me I haven't experienced any issues. Some live in the same house. Others live in a different state. And even gave one to a friend of mine. No one has ever experienced any issues and I've had the family plan about a year now. More on reddit.com

I mainly use Apple Music, but I have YouTube premium, mostly so I can watch YouTube on my phone without ads/while the screen is locked. My mom doesn’t have any music streaming platform, so I want to let her use my YouTube music account since I barely touch it, but I’m worried that since she’ll be signed into my Google account, there might be some way for her to see my emails/Google drive/whatever other private stuff I have attached to the account. Getting a family plan seems pointless since I already have one perfectly good untouched YouTube music account. Is there any way to ensure that my mom is only signed in to my Google account with YouTube music? Thanks.

You're probably just going to want to get a Youtube Premium family plan and just add them to your account. I don't believe it is possible.

Your YouTube Music account is your Google Account. Giving her the password will give her unrestricted access to every Google service you use (search history, Chrome tabs, Gmail, etc). There is no way to give her access to one service and keep her away from the rest.
