YouTube TV is set to launch a new suite of genre-specific channel plans in early 2026, offering subscribers greater flexibility to tailor their subscriptions to specific interests. These new "YouTube TV Plans" will include over 10 different packages, such as a sports-focused plan that will feature major broadcasters, all ESPN networks, FS1, NBC Sports Network, and ESPN Unlimited. The sports package will also support add-ons like NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone, while retaining core features like unlimited DVR, multi-device streaming, Key Plays View, and fantasy view.
In addition to the sports plan, other genre-based packages will be available, including options centered on family and entertainment content, as well as combined sports-and-news plans. Subscribers will be able to mix and match these plans to build a customized lineup without being locked into a single, broad bundle. The initiative aims to give viewers more control over what they watch, reducing the need to pay for channels they do not use.
Pricing and full channel line-ups for the new plans have not yet been announced, though the current Base Plan remains at $82.99 per month after a $59.99 introductory rate for the first two months. The company has emphasized that the new offerings are designed to make TV easier and more personalized, with the goal of letting users choose the plan that best fits their viewing habits.

Is YouTube TV worth the $65 over other cheaper streaming services?
YTTV is not a comparable product to Netflix.
If you want live TV, or a central place to collect and watch stuff that is originally "live" (that is, broadcast and traditional cable channels), particularly sports/local news you can get cable/sat or one of the cable/sat alternative apps (of which YTTV is the superior choice, though slightly higher in cost than the alternatives).
If you just want "stuff to watch" then some combination of streaming services (eg. Netflix HBO Max, etc) adding up to the same cost is probably a better bang for your buck.
The cheapest (and probably smartest) way to watch premium TV is to subscribe to one or two services at a time, watch them dry, then cancel and switch to another.

I will start by saying I'd like to stay with YouTube TV. However, with the other big 3 live TV streaming services offering different perks and add-ons, I feel like YTTV is falling behind.
*Hulu w/Live TV, Fubo, and Direct TV (Streaming) all offer ESPN Unlimited which gets ESPN Select content and WWE PLEs. YTTV does not.
*Hulu w/Live TV bundles in Disney+ and Hulu's back catalog and originals for no extra cost. YTTV does not.
*DIrecTV bundles Disney+ and Hulu (with Gemini lease) on signature packages.
*DirecTV offers genre packs for less that include different add ons such as ESPN Unlimited, Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max.
*Fubo just launched their Sports centric package
Other companies are trying at least to gain business and offer what seems to be better value.
