Yuzu got released for Android, which is always good for the Android emulation scene and switch emulation on android. Surprisingly, for how early this emulator is, there are already some games that are better on Yuzu than on skyline. But before we go over the games I tested, there are some things to go over
-
Theres no control options, which made me think that I needed to use the touch controls. However it automatically binds all the controls, so it does have controller support
-
It is buggy, it will crash randomly if you look at it funny, I bet this will be fixed but for now keep that in mind.
-
I'm using the mainline version, so this could be different for early access
-
My device has a S8G2 with 8 GB ram, so your experience may differ
-
I didn't release for half of my tests that there's a fps counter, so some will not have fps counters, however these ran at 60 fps
-
I'm going to test this later, but I'm assuming that it also supports dlc
-
Some games don't have picture attached to them, but I'll put them in later
Super Mario 3D World: 60 fps, also has a fixed sky box, best way to play
Bowser Fury: Same as 3D world, seems to be the definitive way to play
Smash Bros Ultimate: 60 fps, feels normal, no infinite loading glitch, definitive way to play the game, might also support dlc
Mariokart 8 Deluxe: After replacing a couple files to fix the infinite mii loading screen, it runs very badly, single digits even, still better than skyline
Super Mario Odyssey: One out of 3 games to run worse. The first boot worked fine, but after that for some reason it just loaded gray boxes
Pokemon Sword: Low fps
ACNH: Same issue as SMO
TBOI: Afterbirth: Doesn't need to patch to work, definitive way of playing
(Going to add some more stuff to this post in the future when games get better or if I test more games)
There are so many different switch emulators on android right now that I'm kinda confused on which one I should choose. Theres Yuzu, Suyu, Sudachi etc.
Which one is the best?
And if hardware plays a big role I have a Google Pixel 8a.
So i am considering buying a new phone and since i am doing it once in 5-6 years(yep i am cheap) i am buying a beast that keeps up couple of years.
My question is what i need to keep up with yuzu, 16GB snap gen 3? Should i even consider yuzu in this decision? My current contestants are Rog phone 8 pro and Redmagic 9 pro.
What do you think?
Edit: i have pc and rog ally and i am set with everything, issue came up with phone bc it is old and starts to act.
Save a little bit on the phone and just get a steam deck. They are much cheaper than flagship phones and play games much better. I got one used for only $250 and added a $50 512gb SSD.
Plays TOTK at a mostly stable 30 fps.
Such annoying comments. I wouldn't want to carry my steamdeck or switch everywhere, a phone however I always have in my pocket. Plus people have phones anyways, it's just a little premium for the chip and ram, which you want to have a good one of anyways
If you want to buy a beast get a snap 8 gen 3, if you want good performance on a bit of a budget get a snap 7 gen 2.
Can at least send a link for me (couldn't find it)
Now that Yuzu is discontinued on android what other alternatives do we have for switch emulation. I am new to emulation and I learned about them only after Yuzu Nintendo case. I dont have a PC I just have a Samsung Note 10 and was wondering if emulation is dead for switch games
Have no idea how long the link will last but here's the latest android apk.

Is there a version that runs and work on a Samsung galaxy s24 ultra? Tried the Ryu one and it didn't work sadly.

Basically replace swtch as a handheld
Delivering the best gameplay and performance may be on par with switch 2
Wanted to understand what the community has tried and experienced
Also not too pricey i think would defeat the purpose if more expensive than a switch 2 and underperforms, i maybe wrong considering ai upscale
It seems to be no joke. Yuzu has officially announced to android.
Hell yes finally we can play switch games on the go!!
I think I remember of have heard about they take some stuff from Skyline when devs did shut off/renamed the project. If the mobile version works as good as it works on PC, it surely will be awesome.
If at least I could pay for a better/more powerful phone... But, well... C'est la vie, right?
I want to start using yuzu but since the official yuzu website has been shutdown I can't download it, I assume I can still get yuzu through a 3rd party site but does anyone know which ones are safe to use and if yuzu is even safe anymore since I heard from rumours Nintendo is collecting IP's from the app Edit: I keep suddenly seeing people commenting on my post, only comment solutions if the current one's commented no longer work/ there are better solutions
Just bought galaxy s21 to play some switch games and found out that yuzu was taken down this february. Is there still a way and could someone please tell me how do you set it up? Never have emulated before..
My phone have SD870 and when i play just Indie games like "golf story" its run Very well but after just 2min the phone It gets very hot and the game Framedrop same game but in Skyline i play 2 hours and is run Very well with No problems with heat Every game on yuzu have heat issues So that makes emulator unplayable, i try the gold v16 and the GitHub v80 and have same issues.
I got yuzu on Android working after a long time but this is how the screen is the game is working fine at 30-40 fps but it just looks like this does anyone know a solution?
