Download RyuSAK from the official github, it's a multitool which helps you download precompiled shaders in order to gain some performance (This works for Ryujinx only) and to always get the updated prodkeys

Hey I'm looking for some reddit lawyers to field a question.

Copy protection is implemented as encryption of the data on the game cartridges and a key on the switch itself to decrypt that. Nintendo said Yuzu needs "an illegally-obtained copy of prod.keys" but is that actually true? Is there any legal way to retrieve those keys even if it means doing so in a region that it wouldn't be illegal or maybe randomly guessing albeit being very impractical?

And if so, would sharing a legally obtained key be illegal in the US?

I could be wrong I have no idea but I thought the method provided for obtaining the prod.keys from your own modded switch was actually legal protected by the DMCA but I could be wrong

Some ordinary gamers did a video on this. The only way to legally obtain keys would be asking Nintendo. Since the keys are electronically protected and we work around that to access it (circumvention of access control is the law), dumping files is illegal (not saying it's wrong to do). It would also be illegal to move the keys to a different place than intended, like yuzu or those flash carts going around now. There is a misconception that you own everything when you buy a switch, or any product, and that's not true. It's the act of dumping, and the tools around it that are illegal. If Nintendo found that you had keys or switch games, but can't prove how you got it, then you're safe. They do need to match. The same time you dump additional keys, you should redump the firmware. You could probably get away with some things working on different versions, but it'll soon become problematic.

Okay, first and foremost, I don't want to know where to get them, how to get them, or anything else that might be remotely related to piracy. I am merely seeking to know a bit more about them just to increase my own knowledge. With all the talk about lockpick being shut down, it made me realize that I know very little regarding switch keys.

That being said, I'm haven't trouble finding answers to a couple questions I have regarding switch keys. I have checked the help section for yuzu, but basically I only learned that they are used to decrypt switch games. But I have a couple other questions:

Are the keys a single decryption key that is used to validate any switch game (including games that haven't released yet), in a similar way that windows keys validate your copy of windows regardless of what windows update you're running? Or does your keys file get updated every time new games come out so they work with them?
Do keys change when the switch gets a firmware update, meaning an old keys file won't work for games developed on newer switch firmware?
Are keys files unique to each individual switch console, or is it just a single file that is shared among any switch?

I guess those are really my only questions. Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer these questions!

for each game. Its a list of games. Usually only needed for nintendo first party games. think so. They usually match. its not unique. the same files work on any switch.

Yuzu was discontinued, after Nintendo sued them. Sorry u can’t download it anymore.

You can torrent Yuzu but it's likely outdated by now since it's no longer being worked on.
