Asus ROG strix Z690-F vs other mobos with sound card

I have a z690-f with 13600k and DDR5... In my new build built 2 weeks back. Everything is great with it except for one small thing. The LINE IN on the onboard audio doesn't work properly for me. The levels seem to randomly adjust themselves down and the only way to get them back up is to change any audio setting and then they go up for about a minute before dropping back down. I have nothing turned on in the sonic suite or any other software "Enhancements" that touch the audio. Happens to me on the realtek drivers and on the basic windows audio drivers too. And it doesn't affect my Microphone which is USB (built into my webcam) so I cannot speak to the mic jack on the Mobo. So I would say go for it as long as you don't plan to be doing any audio recording over line in unfortunately that's one of the primary use cases of my computer is digitizing my physical music collection of analog media, vinyl and cassette, so it looks like in my case I'll have to buy an external to the motherboard pcie sound card which is an unfortunate extra added expense but you got to do what you got to do. Asus ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING WIFI vs MSI MPG Z690 CARBON WIFI - PCPartPicker

I was wondering if anyone tried any of the two above boards. I have considered them both for my new build and ended up going ahead with the Asus Z690-F because of it having a thunderbolt port. I think MSI has the qcode reader and asus doesn't as well as a higher RAM frequency? More on pcpartpicker.com

Hello all, I’m looking to upgrade my pc soon given that the new intel CPU’s are releasing, and I saw online that they will still be supporting the z690 boards. I currently am on an i7 6700k paired with an asus maximus hero viii, and looking to stick with the asus brand due to the design of the bios settings, and the unique sound card that comes with most of their boards(sonic suite). I am just wondering if the asus z690-f($350) would be a good pick, or if anyone can recommend some other brand boards including sound cards with some type of application similar to Asus’s sonic suite. Also to mention, I would go with the newer z790 boards that will be releasing with the CPU’s but I figure the prices will be kind of high, and I plan on pairing whatever board I get with either the i7-13700k, or i9-13900k(and ddr5 ram!!!). I’d appreciate any help!

yeah. seems the E is mostly for content creators/gamers with the access to more storage options with the additional Hyper M.2 card included. Being able to turn a PCIe slot into more super fast storage is an incredibly useful feature. Just not something that can be realized for most games at this time.

I have the ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F motherboard.

I recently updated the BIOS 0811 to BIOS 3701.

Now I am in the process of formatting and installing the drivers.

Though I’m not sure which Intel ME to install as there is:

Intel ME
Intel ME Consumer
Intel ME Interface
Intel ME Update Tool

Are these all different to one another? Do I need to install all 4 of them?

Since I done the BIOS update do I still need to install them or what versions do I need to install? So confusing!
