I am going to probably buy this board but still doing final research. It seems to be an update for both the Creator Pro AND the Hero motherboards at least that is my own opinion after comparing them to each other. The Dark Hero has less sata ports but increased power stages to 20+1+2 where as the creator Pro has 16+1+2 and I think the Hero is less as well. Both the Hero and Creator Pro have Wifi 6E but the Dark Hero has WiFi 7 and with that an update to BlueTooth 5.4 and some other components on the board. I am thinking it is sitting right in between as a Creator and Gamer board. I am going to use it as the base for a work station build. Memory is tough with this one and I am finding it difficult to choose memory but am refering to the QVL list for the motherboard. 8000Mhz seems to ONLY be supported for 48GB of memory were as 96GB top speed supported is 7000Mhz and seems from others experience 6800Mhz is the top end at the moment. Future Bios updates may change that, dunno. The $650 price is a sales price and seems to be bouncing between

I want to know if anyone thinks its worth it. It has some nice features and looks very nice imo and has very good reviews but its $650. What do you think?

Im getting it soon. Very expensive for a motherboard but it has alot of things on it and alot of features that normal mb don’t have comes with extra usb slots extra m.2 slots up to 8000 ram speeds ai cooling etc. So imo yes it is worth the price if you definitely have the money to spare.

I’m about to upgrade my system with an intel i9-14900KS but I’m not sure with motherboard would be best. I will be overclocking the CPU and having the RAMs on their standard XMP profile. DDR5s at around 7000mhz(not sure which ones yet, any recommendations are welcome). Strix 4090 watercooled along with CPU.
I’ve come across many reviews that made me conclude that the Dark Hero is better for OC and high RAM speeds. Correct me if I’m wrong.
But then I saw in Techspot a review of 11 Z790s and realized that the temperatures on the Master X were way below the rest. And thats the only thing making me question between the two.
It’s a 15 degree difference. I understand it’s the temperature of the backside PCB, but how much influence that has on the rest of the components? Is that enough to go with Master X instead of Dark Hero?

get a 200$ board wont make a diff whatsoever in ram and cpu oc with a regular 14900k cause you certainly wont need a binned imc for just 7000 then use that money saved to go build a decent phase change cooler and get the cpu running at 6ghz+ allcore which will beat the 14900ks anyways when you are clocking higher than it at much lower temps

Are there more m.2 ports hidden under the vanity plate?
Also I miss the error display on my old Z490E, my next mobo will, absolutely will have that feature. It seems sort of petty but having a code to look up rather than a single light or beeps is so nice.
