I have a gorgeous pair of white wide leg jeans that were about $40 and I cannot race about them enough. Just check the reviews and I’d recommend sizing up to be safe. Darker denim tends to run smaller. Hope this helps! xx More on reddit.com

Getting rid of the last of my skinny jeans, RIP, as I turned 40 recently and it's time.
Any recs for wide or straight legged jeans that are high waisted? I have a pair of everlane but they don't have much give in them. I also have some coulottes I got from anthro that are very cute but end a little too high, like mid calf.

I am getting these jeans

But I keep getting mixed responses, so I’m unsure on what to do.
Wearing these types of jeans they stretch a bit over time but they also shrink in the wash. So whats the proper route?

I size down 100% cotton jeans. Before you buy, make sure you move around in them a bit (e.g. sit down, do a couple of squats) to see what the real fit is as they always tend to relax with movement. Once bought I rarely machine wash my jeans. I'll rinse them in cold water and/or spot clean them where needed. This also means they will last longer. In the past I've had too many pairs of jeans that fit perfect after being washed but then expand as I wear them. I find the above method works a lot better for me.

If I buy jeans even with some stretch they shrink in the wash with cold water and air drying. So I’m starting to size up 1 size
