June 20, 2022 - All things considered, AMD has already announced that Zen 4 CPUs, either Ryzen or EPYC, will only feature support for DDR5 memory so this means that there's no DDR4 IMC on the Zen 4 core. If the red team was to bring Zen 4 on the existing AM4 motherboards, then it would have to make special variants of the chip that house the necessary DDR4 IMC as AM4 is an all-DDR4 platform.

November 16, 2023 - Countering this increase in maximum TDP, AMD is also introducing an Eco Mode that can be used to limit the CPUs TDP to 105W or even 65W, although obviously this impacts peak performance, with boosted clock speeds dropping to below 5GHz at 105W and to under 4GHz at 65W in our testing. July 5, 2024 - My 3950X clocked highest on cores 4 and 5. Both are also on the first CCD. This is a curious pattern. Perhaps AMD is only binning one CCD to hit the maximum boost clocks on 16 core parts. Our Zen 4 and Zen 3 chips also see less clock speed variation than our Zen 2 chip.

September 16, 2025 - While the 7400F lacks integrated graphics, it is a noticeably better processor, boasting a 400MHz higher base clock and boost clock, and 32MB of L3 cache. It could be argued that the Ryzen 5 7400 has more in common with the Ryzen 5 8500G, which has just 16MB of L3 cache, integrated graphics, and six cores, though those cores consist of Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores.

It is said that socket AM5 support is planned as 'through 2025+', but unlike the AM4 days, + is added after the year. It seems to have been added due to the uncertainty of when AM5 will be adopted, but as it is stated that it is confirmed until 2025, Zen 4 confirmed from the announcement of CES 2022 and Zen 5 revealed in the official roadmap, as well as the yet unknown Zen 5's next micro Up to the architecture, it is highly likely to be adopted as AM5.
