Zen 4 - Wikipedia
1 month ago - It is the successor to Zen 3 and uses TSMC's N6 process for I/O dies, N5 process for CCDs, and N4 process for APUs. Zen 4 powers Ryzen 7000 performance desktop processors (codenamed "Raphael"), Ryzen 8000G series mainstream desktop APUs (codenamed "Phoenix"), and Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series ...

AMD reveals key details about its upcoming hybrid APUs
July 26, 2023 - Rumors have indicated that both the 8-core Phoenix and 6-core Phoenix 2 chips will be used in the 7440U, a dual-sourcing strategy that would ensure plenty of supply for these low-end APUs. Because the regular Phoenix chips aren't hybrid, we would have to assume that the 7440U and the 7540U won't take full advantage of the hybrid nature of the Phoenix 2 design. Additionally, it's unclear how AMD plans on utilizing Zen 4 and 4c cores in a hybrid APU since unlike Intel's P-cores and E-cores, Zen 4 and 4c are architecturally identical, though Zen 4c has a more limited frequency.

November 7, 2023 - Considering that the APU will be Phx2 up to 6 cores (2 zen4, 4 zen4c) and up to 4 GPU cores... Probably about the same as 5600G. But power draw should be less than 25W xdd ... The article clearly says Phoenix with 8 Zen4, not certain about Little Phoenix. There's no way desktop APU would be ...

AMD Zen 4 APUs Are Coming, Ryzen 7000G BIOS Updates Arrive | Tom's Hardware
November 7, 2023 - They come with up to eight cores instead of the 16 that Raphael-based CPUs (the normal Ryzen 7000-series desktop chips) come with, but feature 12 RDNA 3 Compute Units versus the four RDNA 2 CUs on Raphael. Needless to say, that's a potentially big jump in integrated graphics performance for desktops that use the new processors. There's also the Phoenix 2 APU, which has up to six cores (four of which are Zen 4c) and just four RDNA 3 CUs.

FEATURED - Zen 4 APUs anyone? | Overclockers Forums
January 2, 2024 - I somehow missed it before, but there is Universal x86 Tuning Utility, which works with desktop and mobile CPUs, so even if you have very limited BIOS, then you can unlock power limits and some other things. Ryzen Master and Intel XTU work with some of the highest mobile CPUs, too. You probably know that, but if you didn't, then you can play with the software, regardless of which way you pick. The APU with C+c cores can be quite cheap, but everything around will cost a bit.

AMD launches Ryzen 7040: 4nm APU with Zen 4 and RDNA 3 iGPU - HWCooling.net
January 11, 2023 - The mobile Ryzens will be a jungle of five different chips in the 7000 generation as a whole, so it will be challenging to navigate them, but the 4nm Phoenix APUs with Zen 4 can be distinguished by a numerical designation ending in 40, with the four indicating the Zen 4 core (the low-end Mendocino with Zen 2 Lite cores will have a designation ending with 20, refreshed 6nm Rembrandt models will end with 35 and refreshed 7nm Barcelo/Cezanne has a designation ending with 30). Phoenix is not yet a chiplet design like the desktop Ryzen 7000s, but a monolithic 4nm chip, which should be beneficial for power draw and power efficiency.

AMD Ryzen 7000G desktop APUs to use Zen 4 cores and RDNA3 iGPU | KitGuru
October 9, 2023 - These come with up to eight Zen 4 cores and 12 CUs, and desktop variants shouldn't be much different. Still, this is a big improvement over Rembrandt (Zen3+/RDNA2), which was never introduced as a desktop CPU. As a reminder, the latest desktop APUs from AMD are the Ryzen 5000G series, which uses Zen 3 cores and Vega graphics.
