Anybody tried Zoot? Would you recommend their bibs/jerseys?
I'd expect they are not as great as Maap/Rapha, but they're significantly cheaper (~half the price). Anybody comment to compare, sort of trying to put together a kit quality hierarchy of sorts.
I've seen them mentioned in the tri community but not a lot in the cycling specific community.
Quality is high, but most associate Zoot with triathletes so road cyclists look down their noses at the stuff. My coach (pro-level Ironman triathlete) absolutely swears by their bib/short combos for training and their suits for racing.
I haven't tried them myself as I'm a roadie snob ;)
I've used some of their tri kit and it is okay, nothing to write home about. Quality control is not very good, meaning that the consistency from garment to garment is poor. Customer service equally so. Don't expect them to honor their warranty if anything goes bad. I had a pair of shorts where the chamois started to unravel after a few washes. They kept telling me to return it to retailer (no returns) and finally after pushing they offered a measly 30% discount from their online store.
I will never buy Zoot again.
