Basically, there is no "best" between the two, they use a similar steel but geometry is very different. It depends on your taste and care to choose between a very thin but delicate knife (FKM) or a hefty workhorse (Zwilling). More on reddit.com

Hey guys, I currently have a humble set of knives and am looking to upgrade my paring knife. My current all-rounder chefs knife is a Zwilling Pro 7" with the white handle, and I love the profile that the matching paring knife has.
With Eid holiday coming up I’m thinking of asking my parents for the Zwilling paring knife, and potentially a 1000 grit stone as well. I haven't heard any particular criticisms about the brand, but I’m wondering if it's worth the 70 bucks or so or if I should hold off and upgrade my chefs knife to something with a higher grade steel (budget definitely under $250).
My mind is fairly made up but figure I should post here just in case. Cheers!

Zwillings are worth it if you get them on sale. They regularly go on sale for 35-50% off. A takamura R2 would be a perfect compliment to your zwilling. Let the zwilling do the rough jobs and the takamura r2 do the fine precise jobs.
