I tried the shockz openswim but the furthest forward I could get them to sit was over my ear canals. Are there any bone conduction headphones that have larger sizes available?
I was interested in the Zygo Z2 but the originals seem to have a fair number of negative reviews.

Actually how did you try to place the Shokz? Its loop is supposed to sit behind the neck rather than behind the head or over the head. Checking just in case its placement was not as intended.

Could be worth looking into SONR. It is not a headphone. It is a bone conduction speaker with built-in MP3 that sits on your goggle straps or under your swim cap. I have both Shokz and Sonr. Sonr wins for dive start off the block (cannot use Shokz for it as it comes off...), although I prefer Shokz for sound volume and quality, and battery life.
