NOT a flat, heavy quilt that is being called a comforter for some reason
Just a simple, fluffy, cotton comforter, for one person or two. That's all I want!
Is there seriously no market for this in the US anymore? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I can find ENDLESS sites and stores selling everything BUT simple cotton comforters. I'm going to have to order from China at this rate -- for a simple, reasonably priced, quality fluffy cotton comforter. That just doesn't sound right to me!

I found a 100% cotton comforter at Costco 2 years ago, but it has no filling. But I will say, it’s pretty warm during the winter and surprisingly cool in the summer. But the stopped selling it :/ now I’m on the same search as you. I did find one at Costco I might buy but it’s 150ish

So when you search, it may have a 100% cotton shell but a polyester fill. 100% cotton fill comforters are not common and not really recommended because while they are breathable cotton absorbs moisture and can get nasty really easily from sweat. Additionally, finding colors for this type of comforter with such a unique fill is going to be difficult. The easy way out is definitely to buy the 100% cotton duvet and use a dark gray duvet cover. If you’re open to other fills, you should be able to do a comforter with the color you want with the cotton shell. More on reddit.com

I have a cotton duvet insert with cotton filling. I don’t like polyester filling bc it’s just flammable plastic, and I like the weight of cotton. I got mine for a reasonable price from Schweitzer Linens, highly recommend. Bedding industry is flooded with polyester since it’s cheap AF and light and fluffy which is what most people want, but it sleeps hot and people don’t realize that most down alternative is just spun plastic. honestly best thing i can say in case you dont find one is get a good fur remover tool and even though you are not a fan of duvets just get a cotton one. best if they can be tied to the comforter that way you dont feel it floating around

I am struggling to find any reputable place to buy a 100% cotton comforter. I have found one at Costco https://www.costco.com/cottonpure-100%25-cotton-comforter.product.100528101.html but it's not the color I want, I am looking for dark grey. And looking on Amazon, one quick look at the negative reviews and it has people stating the comforter is not 100% cotton for many different comforters. Any idea where one can buy one? I like the idea of not putting a duvet in a duvet cover but I might give up and look into 100% cotton duvet and duvet covers since it's quite hard to find this specific type of comforter.

You really should put a comforter in a duvet cover. It protects the longevity. Plus MUCH easier to wash. Lots of oils and skin will get into the comforter. Plus then you get the 100%cotton touching your skin with a duvet cover.
