3/4” OD copper pipe question
I need advice. The OD on my 3/4 in copper pipe is larger than .875 so my compression fitting are too small. The OD is about .92. I'm installing a water heater. What should I do?

Accidentally drilled a hole in one of the refrigerant lines of my AC unit on the outside of my house and want to repair it. The pipe is 5/8” (3/4” OD), and Home Depot only had 1/2” or 3/4” sharkbait couplers. I can’t seem to find any that would fit 5/8”, and it’s Sunday so plumbing supply stores are closed . I already cut the pipe above the hole so I can’t use one of those quick repair wrap kits. What are my options? Total DIYers here, not a plumber by any means.
Rigid pipe is described by inner diameter (so 3/4" pipe is about 7/8" outside). Tubing ("soft" copper) is described by outer diameter. Tubing is usually connected by compression fittings, but you can solder it with the proper fittings.

ah d'oh .. it's 7/8" pipes. And yes they're sold online. The 7-11'ish (small-box, but close-by/convenient) Ace Hardware doesn't carry 7/8".
