October 20, 2024"Age of Dinosaurs" (2013) - This movie is just Treat Williams and Ronny Cox trying while hilariously bad CGI dinosaurs "Die Hard" the building they are in. Well most of the movie is set in the one building, but eventually the prehistoric giants escape and wreck havoc in Hollywood.
"Age of Dinosaurs" (2013) - This movie is just Treat Williams and Ronny Cox while hilariously bad CGI dinosaurs "Die Hard" the building they are in. Well most of the movie is set in the one building, but eventually the prehistoric giants escape and wreck havoc in the city proper. And that city is none other than tinsel town. We even get a scene on the iconic Hollywood sign. It is just one of many hilariously bad moments in this flick. It should come as little surprise that this was made by our friends over at The Asylum. It appear this was made to cash in on the upcoming release of "Jurassic World". That movie ended up being delayed several times, so this came out way before it. It's not like they have much in common anyway, well outside dinosaurs and genetics. Oh and scenes of dinosaurs fighting helicopters in close combat, they also both have those. Treat Williams should have been in "Jurassic World". With all that said it should come as no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It actually is one of my favorites from The Asylum, which is saying something given the sheer number of movies from them I have seen. This thing has almost everything I enjoy in a bad movie; copious amount of low budget CGI, hilarious kills, questionable character decisions, exploding helicopters, and WTF moments-a-plenty. Sadly no boobs, but you can't have everything after all. March 10, 2021 - Lawson who is usually better known as visual effects supervisor for The Asylum, although has taken a director’s role on several occasions with the likes of Nazis at the Center of the Earth (2012), one of The Asylum’s best films, Age of the Hobbits (2012), Alone for Christmas (2013) and Ardennes Fury (2014). As a result of his background, Lawson stages the dinosaur effects far better than most of the other Asylum directors.

Some gore, a lot of stupidity in horrible sci-fi movie. Read Common Sense Media's Age of Dinosaurs review, age rating, and parents guide. Wow -- unlike other "so bad, they're good" movies such as Sharknado, "Age of Dinosaurs" is just a terrible movie in every way. Any potential menace from the dinosaurs is tempered by how the awful CGI ruins any remote potential of "suspension of disbelief." The premise is flimsy at best, the writing is lousy (and not even funny-lousy), and the ending is unsatisfying. There really is nothing worthwhile about this movie, not even as mindless entertainment.
