Aw the responses here make me sad. She was certainly not at the top of her class, but I think she did well with the material she was given and didn't find her acting to be distractingly bad. I think her blandness as an actress may also be a character trait for Grace? Like, I keep trying to imagine other actors in the role, and every time I think of someone who was more emotional range and is more dynamic, I think that that would not make a good Grace. Grace is supposed to be a pretty, softspoken barmaid who loves to sing. She's not there to cause any trouble, just to observe and get close to Thomas. So the acting of Grace can't vary widely between emotions. I would love to know how another actor could have played Grace better? I'm genuinely asking for specific scenes of Grace where you think Annabelle Wallis should have played it differently or how a different actor would have played it differently. It's hard for me to think of anything. My defense of Annabelle Wallis may very likely only be due to the fact that I find that she and Cillian Murphy had singular chemistry that hasn't been replicated with his other love interests. I don't know if it's just the fact that they are two beautiful people who look amazing together or something more intangible, but their scenes together really spark. More on reddit.com

I love grace . And i will forever be upset by what he did with her character development . With that being said , I always suspected she would be killed off unfortunately . Just because of the nature of Tommy’s character . This man is fearless . He doesn’t even fear death . So I knew that to hurt him they would go after whoever he loves most . In this case it was either gonna be grace or their son . Killing off Charlie would have been way too dark so ultimately it had to be grace . Tommy wanted to start going legit for her , for them . So he uses graces death to hurt Tommy , to give him that character development of becoming more ruthless . So while I can understand why grace got killed off , The way in which he did it was just wrong , in my opinion . He gives us a heated scene between her and Polly at the wedding only to not follow up on that altercation??? So much potential wasted . It was too soon I think . Seems to me like SK just got lazy with her character 🙄😒I can appreciate the way they brought her back for season 5 though 🤷🏼‍♀️ at least we got that 🙇‍♀️🤧🤧
