I keep looking at them, but then wonder if it wouldn't be irritating to be stuck having only the positions the adjustable frame adjusts to. I'm dithering about whether or not I shouldn't just keep using a foam bed wedge for my head/shoulders and foam feet wedge (forget what it's called) on my box springs so that I can move them around to wherever I want on any given night or nap. I'd like to hear from people who currently use adjustable bed frames about whether or not they get aggravated at only having the various positions that are built into that frame, or if those positions are always what you need? Is an adjustable base worth it?
You won’t be able to sleep in the adjusted position, other than the slightly elevated anti-snore, since you’re a side sleeper. Since you enjoy reading in bed too though, I’d say you’d definitely get use out of it. If you have a Sam’s Club membership or Costco, you could try their adjustable bases since you can return them there. 99% of mattress retailers do not allow returns on their adjustable foundations. I recently gave mine (2 weeks old) to my parents because I felt they’d get more use out of it, plus I was frustrated trying to look for a solid bed for them lol. Make sure you check the weight capacity, some cheap ones only lift 600 lbs total (including mattress). EDIT for anyone with a pacemaker, please read the manufacturer’s owners manual before you purchase. More on reddit.com
Adjustable bed owners: why did you buy one and how do you like it?
I bought one a few months ago and I really like it. I have sleep apnea and back problems- I feel more rested. It’s for back sleeping mostly But you can still set it so it’s flat like a regular bed or slightly raised which I try occasionally while lying on my side Mine has a remote with a Anti-snore button that raises your head/chest to good angle in few seconds It also has two massage motors - but I find them a little weak - (gimmicky ) like from a 70s hotel - put in a quarter and the bed jiggles (cue Barry White smoke machine and mood lighting) I bought mine off Amazon as the selection was bigger than the stores- some charge a lot more in the store. The adjusting frame can sits inside a regular bed frame- you would remove the cross brackets. Split king bed could be done with two twin XL beds side by side- so your partner can have different adjustments More on reddit.com

r/Mattress on Reddit: Adjustable bed frames - Is more expensive better in any meaningful way?
April 3, 2024 -
Hey all,
I'm in the market for an adjustable king-size bedframe (I currently have a queen-size one from 4 years ago) and I'm seeing a plethora of ones all the way from $500 to $2500 that seem to have pretty much the same functionality. I'm considering the Wayfair sleep adjustable base which has tonnes of good reviews and is ~$700.
Are the other much more expensive branded bed frames (Puffy, Nectar, Tempur) better in any meaningful way? They look and seem the same, just re-branded!

Cheers!

I bought mine from amazon. its a lucid to replace a super cheap freebie I got with a mattress. The features that were important to me were that I could raise both the foot and the head and a wireless remote. Everything else didn’t seem like things that were necessary. The one feature I do wish I had is the lighting underneath. Keep in mind that the more features, the more things to break.
