I've been using Figma a few months now and the Editor is awesome - no need for Sketch anymore.
But when it comes to administering Figma and Projects, I'm facing some huge usability issues. Here are some examples:
- If you are the Figma Admin for your company (setting up Figma etc), then you do not have access to any projects or files unless your colleague invites you. And even if they do, there can only be one project owner and it will not be you. So if your colleague abruptly quits, you need to contact Figma support in order to get access to those projects / files.
- They have three levels; Team, Project and Files. Inviting a colleague to your project file, does not automatically add them to the project. You can add a person to your Team, but it does not automatically give them access to the projects - and so on.
- When you want to work on a new project, you often click on the Drafts + "button". This creates a file and not a project. Then you share this file with another designer, let's call him Stig. Stig will discover that he has a hard time locating the file / project. He can only find it in his Recent "folder". The file will not show up because the file is still in your Drafts "folder".
- It lacks a page to show all the projects you are working on (Recent folder is not that)

I have tried figuring out the precise differences between the team owner and the team admin. As far as I can see the admin is the one in control of the team, and I can't see what extra features the owner has over an editor?

Owner has all the controls, can see all the activities across all teams and projects and can add/remove any user including admins.
