Just curious lol, was watching the Apple Event video and when they mentioned AirPods Pro 2 instead of 2nd generation, I initially felt disappointed as I thought the updates were coming to a new AirPods Pro instead of an update to the existing 2nd generation.
I bought my Airpods pro 1st gen in April 2021. About 2 months ago I started getting the static sound with ANC and transparency mode. I thought I was going crazy at first.
I contacted Apple support online and they told me to go in store.
I went to a genius bar appointment.
They confirmed that both earbuds have static issue. However, I was told the airpods pro were manufactured in March 2021 (after October 2020) so not eligible for free replacement and I'm obviously out of warranty now too.
I was given 2 choices: replace each earbud at $115 cad (total $230 cad) with 1st gen or just buy the new 2nd gen for $329.
I mean I don't think 17 months is that long of a time.
Has anyone had any static issues with post October 2020 manufactured Airpods pro 1st gen? Did Apple replace them for free?
