What’s new in the Hamilton universe in 2025?
Three big things: the filmed stage production gets a theatrical release for the 10th anniversary (with new “Reuniting the Revolution” interviews), the original cast reunites for high-profile anniversary performances, and Leslie Odom Jr. returns as Burr for a limited Broadway run.

What role does Burr play in this song?
Burr is both narrator and foil. His awe gradually turns to envy as Hamilton’s success escalates. Their philosophical split becomes starkly clear during their Constitution debate.

Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned, Our man saw his future drip, dripping down the drain, Put a pencil to his temple, connected it to his brain, And he wrote his first refrain, a testament to his pain. Well the word got around, they said, “This kid is insane, man” Took up a collection just to send him to the mainland. “Get your education, don’t forget from whence you came, and The world’s gonna know your name. What’s your name, man?” Alexander Hamilton.

Do the songs have a lot of spoilers? I'll be attending my first show, but am worried I won't be able to catch the lyrics during the live performance, so I'm thinking about listening to the soundtrack ahead of time. Thank you.
the songs ARE the show. there's no difference between the soundtrack and the stage production, story and song wise. i tell everyone to listen to the soundtrack extensively BEFORE seeing the show though. it will help you out immensely. i had listened to the soundtrack on a constant loop for about a year before i saw it live...and i was able to focus on the staging, acting and production details. meanwhile my wife had almost no exposure to the music beforehand, and was completely overwhelmed with the whole production. it's almost too much to process at once. so before we saw it a second time, she had absorbed the songs as much as possible. and for spoilers -- the show is based on historical facts. so umm, if you've taken a middle school history class...you'll know what's coming. if you have time, give the soundtrack a spin a few times. then you can join in the discussions on how your cast compares to the original too.
