January 6, 2022 - No, those are not official suffixes. There is no "T14i" or "T14a", only a ThinkPad T14. ... The only thing that matters is the product labels - something that is written on some Lenovo website is not official if it isn't on the product. The website is just for marketing (and I believe they put the "i" there to make it easier to differentiate), and not even consistent.

Lenovo completed the ThinkPad brand acquisition in May 2005. As part of the deal, some ThinkPads continued to be sold under the IBM ThinkPad brand for years afterwards. The said brand was however, discontinued (likely due to the license expiring) mid-way in production of the T61/R61/X61 models. This is also the reason why all models after the T61 did not feature the old IBM branding.
